Kevin Samuels was a polarizing figure whose opinions evoked in the hearts and minds of many, feelings of pure admiration or utter contempt. While some viewed him as a father figure of sorts – brutally honest and provocative; others saw him as a divisive, anti-Black misogynist that promoted confusion in the Black community. In this piece, I will give an unbiased opinion on the life of Kevin through the lens of Black Empowerment. Before we begin, I will state that Kevin’s untimely passing at the age of 56 was tragic. He not only died in his prime but at the apex of his online career.

    Table of Contents

    A Legacy of Questionable Opinions

Before we begin, we need to accept that for every supposed piece of wisdom Kevin Samuels has given, there is an equal amount of questionable opinions and commentary. While not as bad as let’s say a Rush Limbaugh, his opinions often placed him firmly in peerage with the likes of Candace Owens, Fresh and Fit, and Tommy Sotomayor. Many of us have wllfully overlooked these comments because Kevin Samuels was entertaining and supposedly offering sound advice on relationships, marriage, and self-improvement. But do they outweigh the harmful, controversial things he said or done? Let’s explore:

    Black Women Are Objectively Ugly

“Beauty is not subjective, that’s why we have the golden ratio, the effeminate equation. You can look at facial symmetry and see that beautiful people, you can map their facial structure and it goes to a mathematical calculation. Beauty is universal and the thing is…we’re talking about Black women, they are on the opposite end of the spectrum on all ranks” – Kevin Samuels
    TWEET
    SHARE
Kevin Samuels believed that Black women were objectively ugly, based upon European science. One would have to be foolish to believe that his negative opinions on our mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts DID NOT impact how he spoke to and viewed them.

Black Men Need to Stop Talking About Race

“Far too often when guys are not successful in their personal life or professional life race tends to come up a lot for (unintelligible) Black men”. – Kevin Samuels
In this clip, Kevin Samuels told Black men to stop whining, playing victim, and using the race card. How is this any different than the average White Supremacist viewpoint? Would you accept respectability politics from Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity? If the answer is no, why would you accept it from Kevin Samuels? How can someone help elevate the Black community if they don’t see White Supremacy as our single greatest threat and obstacle?

Contrary to Kevin’s thoughts process, Black Americans live in a racial caste system which makes his advice foolish, dangerous, and delusional. The issue with the “try harder” rhetoric is that the game is rigged. No matter how well you play the slots or the card table, you will eventually lose. In order for Black Americans to succeed we have to flip over the card table, not try to find ways to work within it.

Slavery Was Abolished Due to White People’s Benevolence

“…until the emancipation proclamation was signed, the 13th amendment, it didn’t matter how many Nat Turner rebellions happened…until you were given the rights by whom? Yes, you were given [rights], you didn’t fight for them. ” – Kevin Samuels
So not only does Kevin Samuels diminish the beauty of Black people, he also diminishes our contribution to our own freedom. From his perspective, the abolishment of Slavery and the passing of the Civil Rights Act are the result of White benevolence rather than forceful compromise due to Black insurrections.

He Looks Up to Thomas Sowell

“Thomas Sowell, I’ll love to get him on the show…go read Thomas Sowell” – Kevin Samuels
Kevin Samuels loved and supported Uncle Thomas Sowell. For those of you unaware of Thomas Sowell, here’s a clip of him justifying European Imperialism.

    Let’s recap, Kevin Samuels believes:

    • Black women are objectively the ugliest women on the planet.
    • Black men need to stop complaining about Race.
    • Black people only have rights because White people allow it.
    • Thomas Sowell is a man whose works we all must read.
Is this truly a man whose teachings would have led to a liberated and enlightened Black community? Or was he simply a man that was looking to assimilate the Black community into Whiteness? Based on his own words, we will presume the latter. Kevin Samuels wanted Black people to emulate the Buffer Class strategy of venerating Whiteness in hopes that we would promoted higher in the racial hierarchy. He wanted Black women to dress, act, and look according to Eurocentric standards. He wanted Black men to stop calling White people out on their racism in American society. He essentially was asking Black people to “pull their pants up and stop rocking the boat”.

Kevin Samuels, like other tap-dancers before him, have wasted their lives helping to represent and promote things that are oppositional to our interests, and harmful and toxic to us in the long-term. White supremacist platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter elevate people like Kevin Samuels because they proudly promote anti-Black racism, gender warring, and White Supremacy. So I ask you the reader, are you willing to overlook Kevin Samuels’ caping for White Supremacy simply because he gave relationship advice you appreciated? If so, I think it’s important to ask yourself if Black empowerment is a core tenet of your belief system or merely a source of political entertainment.

I was not fond of Kevin Samuels, his elevated presence, nor Youtube’s incessant promotion of him on my Feed. I often wished he faded into obscurity and that his non-stop gender warring would be a relic of the past. It’s unfortunate that he had to die in such a tragic and timely manner but with that said, I hope has the opportunity to repent and cleanse his soul.

When I first heard about him, I listened for a while. I stopped after a while. I agreed with him about a few things actually. Things I discussed in person to sisters I knew. I stopped tuning in for a primary reasons. The first was 'how' he talked to many of the sisters. Way too brutal verbally (which I also thought on TBA's 'The Business' but he also gave the same to Black men) Second, it was too repititive. Not much balance, meaning getting on brothers too, which he started doing a wee bit towards the end I heard. Third, not much in solutions.

TBA was dogging him bad and talked about his liking Thomas Sowell and that was a huge turnoff as well. Tariq liked him but I am not sure he knew about the Sowell connection and other problematic things. TBA maintains he and others copied him. I don't know, as I didn't listen to others but maybe some of you can verify that.

He had a strong black male (and a quiet but large white male) following. Bottom line is brothers and sisters will never agree on him. There will eventually come someone else who will fill most of that void, but witih a twist and the whole thing (debate) will start over again.

I couldn't listen to him because he was way too feminine. He was feminine, sassy, hateful, and I just couldn't stand to listen to him denigrate women. I feel like people gravitated towards him because of the entertainment value and it was the first time a lot of brothas saw a Black man in a tailored suit.

Overall I don't think he added anything to the community. He made some really coonish statements and talked to Black women in a very hateful manner.

This nigga had a stream where he was laughing at a woman saying she had dead ovaries. I was a KS Legion Supreme Allied Commander until that day. I saw the show differently from that moment. It didn’t seem like a stern teacher, it seemed like someone who had something to prove to women. We was still hurt when he passed but I moved on to only watching the business by that point.

By all accounts, it's a good riddance passing of a self hating ignoramous delusional white supremacy induced phuc'd up coon. Did his mother know he thought she was inherently ugly?! What a chump!

Word has it that wet back latina stole a gang of his property as EMS was working on him. I refuse to cheer his home going but I didn't like one bit how he talked down to black women.

And who the f is he? If he is out there saying our women are the ugliest, then he is also calling his own mother ugly. Let that sink in. I have heard of him before but never knew about this stuff. This dude is out there carrying a double-edged sword on himself, hurting black men, women, and children while stabbing himself!

If you are looking through a white lens, then yeah you probably would believe the other crap but how is he going to say our women are the ugliest? This pisses me off. If black women are so ugly, why are white women out there botoxing their lips to be bigger like our? Why they getting butt implants and breast implants to match our God-given curves? This dude is nonsense in a suit.

All races have ugly women, I can admit to that but to say WE are the ugliest, dude needs to step off a bridge.

We saw the woman that gave him that fatal climax, NOT a Black woman. If that woman is truly a nurse, seems like Kevin could've been saved, if she followed protocol. Hell, maybe he was set up. 🤷🏽‍♀️

The whole red pill movement is a coon fest. I have yet to see any personality in that space be about Black empowerment. When you start letting White people be your ideological leader you start ending up in some strange places. You can follow Rollo Tomassi on Women and then when he talks about race he'll alienate you quickly. You either run for the hills or you let the rapport he built with you talking about ladies influence you on race.

A lot of Black people in this space end up letting these White men influence their entire world view. You end up with people like Fresh and Fit, Donovan Sharpe, etc. Straight up cornballs.

Don't give up your day job anytime soon because you're not a good judge of character. Good erudition is something to be parodied now? 🙄 I had a good career as a result of applying that erudition -isn't that the purpose?
I also get irritated by people calling a difference in opinion or perspective hate speech -weak minded kumbaya people!

From the videos on Youtube that I saw, he seemed to go at Black woman, but put it under the guise of "tough love". Also considering Thomas Sowells history, it didnt sit right that he co-signed this guy. It was unfortunate that KS passed, but he seemed he was more about red pill than black empowerment.

That is just cold and clearly an issue with himself. Is he married or seeing anyone? I would be curious to know what color they are. Dude sounds like a professional coon.

I wasn't too familiar with him, maybe a year before he died is when I stumbled onto one of his videos. I thought he was more entertaining than anything. I've got a few years on him so, I didn't really see what he was offering as benifical to me personally. I can see how a 20 something could find what he was saying as useful.
I didn't agree with a lot of how he perceived certain things, but he was knowledgeable. A bit stuck up too.

Kevin mess up the song "Good Lies" for me. I can't even listen to it anymore without getting pissed TF off now.
How am I off code those we're his opinions..We and / or you don't have to agree with them but that was HIS opinion and it is what it is.
And that is unfortunate that you can let someone else's opinions upset you to the point where you can no longer listen to a song..#emotional

Even if you didn't like him, I can think of one positive from him and Jason Black's 'The Business' that I've seen in a few brothers. That is, becoming a 'high value' man. Sisters would use "You aren't a high value man" as a come back in these debates. I know one brother who took a tech course to change his career. He was a HS school teacher. He is taken a job offer for 90k and a 10k signing bonus. He'll be over 100k easily on his next gig.

Another brother was on Jason Black's Patreon and 2 years ago started taking cloud engineering classes and now is certified AWS cloud engineer and his job offers off LinkedIn are always over 100k. These are but 2 examples of people I know doing the 'high value man' thing. I have an ex con friend now making $120,000 as an interstate, long haul 18 wheel truck driver.

My hope is that if nothing else, like or loathe him, brothers are at least trying to become a high value man so they can complain...haha.

You didn’t read the article brotha…Kevin said:
    • Black women are objectively ugly
    • Black men need to stop talking about race
    • White people gave us rights
    • We need to read Thomas Sowekl
Why protect someone who talks about Black people like that? Calling it out is not hate.
Hating may too harsh of a word but that is his opinion...And I'm Not by any means protecting him..And Granted he would say some foul things about our Sistas..His opinion us HIS OPINION..
For example I BELIEVE Sistas are the Most Beautiful women on the planet..
    That's MY opinion
I didn't say I agreed with Patna but he's dead..And no longer able to speak on anything.
I look at the LESSONS NOT THE TEACHER..

I’m not attacking you brotha but this is the issue we as Black people have. We will see people espouse hate towards us and for some reason we will have a non-chalantness about it.

This nigga said our moms are objectively ugly based on science and it’s “just an opinion”?

This nigga said that our plight is due to not being competitive and not because of racism but it’s “just an opinion”?

We will let people speak down on us, say the most ugly vile things, and brush it off until it turns into violence.

Then when it turns to violence we still try to be non-chalant about it. Jews made this mistake in Germany when Hitler was talking big shit and they almost got wiped out…they said never again.

We need to have that same energy. Also think about it, the message and the messenger cannot be separated.

    • Can you trust Black crime statistics from J. Edgar Hoover?
    • Can you expect an honest account of Turkey from an Armenian?

I looked at KS like I looked at everyone else.
You take what you can use and you throw the rest away.
His basic philosophy about what we look for vs. what were offering in relationships was spot on.

Where he lost me is the "once you're past a certain age, it's over" talk.
His standards of beauty come from antiquated European criteria.
He used the BMI a lot to tell women "you weigh more than a man!". In 1967, maybe.
Humans evolve. We're getting larger. The average American man is over 200 lbs. now
A Black woman who incorporates weight training in her workout routine can be in prime physical condition and weigh close to 200 lbs also.

But what we should also consider is that controversy sells.
He had been a YouTuber for some time but once he got a lil spicy, he blew up.
These women who despised him would listen and call in. That's all that matters in business. The numbers.

I will also say this. A lot of brothers get triggered from sisters who they believe have way over the top expectations from what these sisters bring to the table (kids, baby daddy drama, etc.).

I know brothers who are what I would deem 'producers' by the standards that are set today and that is over 100k a year in income. Pretty much every one of them I know are 'enjoying there options'. They are either married, engaged or monogamously dating someone they are happy with. The rest are players and are smashing all kinds of women who would be classified as 8s and above.

These guys (the single ones) don't trip or get too triggered by a sister who is 30lbs overweight, with multiple baby daddies saying she will only date a man making 6 figures. They wouldn't consider them. The brothers I see complain the most and I am not talking here, I don't know y'all, but the ones I know personally, those are the only types of women they can pull. They aren't pulling 'Claire Huxtable' of Cosby fame.

Diddy, Jamie Foxx and the single entertainers we see are pulling fine women and they exercise their options. Now, not everyone is a mega producer. In this day and age you could be a nerdy techie making 120k a year, socially awkward, no style, no game but there are plenty of smart, attractive women who are like 'Sherlock Holmes' and can peep the subtleties and get at these guys. Asian women in particular are very good at peeping producers who masked outwardly as nerds, betas, etc. Many white women as well. Just keeping it a buck. I have worked with a variety of people, vast variety and I peeped that. Latinas next. The smart sisters peep guys like that early. Quick story, in the customer service department of a company I worked for there was a brother, nice guy syndrome. No hood vibe. He got into Howard Law school but got a delayed entry so he could save up some money for a year or two. Sisters were not feeling him. This one sista, club type, cute but definitely the type to be in an athlete or entertainer's hotel room for All Start weekend, latched on to him. She was cute but it was evident she was for the streets, we even told him. But a cute girl hollaring at him for the first time, he bit and she ended up 'getting pregnant' when he was leaving for law school. She told him, don't worry, we will make it work, just finish law school. Credit to her, she had his back, and he finished and now they are married with about 2 or 3 kids. I think it was sheisty to get pregnant but she played the game and 'won' if you wanna say that. She peeped his potential and while I don't like her methods, she got a producer. She didn't go for the hood figga or the pretty boy or whatever, she at least identified a producer while her friends were chasing guys who were not marriage material.

Anyway, admittedly, I used to hear sisters say all kinds of stuff and be like 'wtf?'. I am not tryna say I'm a producer, etc, lets just say I do 'i-ight'..haha...most women don't peep the signs and a few do. Of the few who do, a certain number of them have a 'what ya gonna do for me' mindset and act like being cute is more than enough for me.

The Kendra G program is an eye opener. I worry about the black masses, both men and women, if her guests are the norm. Feel sorry for y'all..haha

Kevin Samuels believed that Black women were objectively ugly, based upon European science. One would have to be foolish to believe that his negative opinions on our mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts DID NOT impact how he spoke to and viewed them.

Black Men Need to Stop Talking About Race

So not only does Kevin Samuels diminish the beauty of Black people, he also diminishes our contribution to our own freedom. From his perspective, the abolishment of Slavery and the passing of the Civil Rights Act are the result of White benevolence rather than forceful compromise due to Black insurrections.

He Looks Up to Thomas Sowell

Never heard him speak, but he sounds like trash. He does not sound honorable.

Your second paragraph is why your first paragraph doesn‘t matter to me in regards to KS. He was hateful, spiteful, and a coon so I can‘t take advice from someone who sees the world through those type of coon colored glasses.

A lot of women in our community are programmed to see this as a producer:

#1 represents masculinity, protection, bravado, challenge, and so they gravitate that way. #2 looks easy, weak, boring, and safe and so they overlook him. It’s sad.

At the end of the day, as a black man, you look for what you want. I used to complain about the quality of women in my city, then I became real about it. I stopped complaining about something I can't control. I look for what I want, shoot my shot. Simple as that. I know what I bring to the table and I look for sistas who I want that recognizes that. That sista may be in another city, on a dating app, whatever.

The guys I know who are producers don't complain nearly as much as the regular n*ggas and that's because regular, average income got limited options. Not shitting on their status, I may be classified as a regular n*gga maybe? All I can do is work on me, improve as best I can in all areas and then logic dictates I will attract what I am looking for.

Some sistas are asking a potential guy if they listen to or are they a fan of KS in order to disqualify a guy. All I can say to those sistas is my advice, don't even ask. Guys lie sometimes (oftentimes) how he moves and how he treats you is all the proof you need. There are those who love KS and ain't shit and other who love him and are husband material.

For the brothers, you know what will change sistas teh most? If a certain percentage of brothers are on their grown man sh*t. Waaaaay too many dusty n*ggas complaining. Likewise, waaaaaay too many below average sistas talking ish as well and these days if another sista call them out on it, sistas as a collective label her as a 'pick me' and go full blown shade on social media at her in the comments.

Black producers living their best lives. They got all manner of women after them. Some want wifey, some are players but bottom line is if you are a producer, you got options. If you are a 'bhaddie' sista with a good wifey attitude, you got options.

For the fact that it looks very obvious he submitted to White Supremacy and their slavery as well as always looked down on our women was the breaking point for me towards him. I'm not a fan of his in any ways, even though he's dead, there's nothing about him that interests me.

I appreciated the guy’s work still watching his backlog. Never got to watch him till he died . In my opinion he was helping the black community the most even how destroyed and disfigured it is. He help some that wanted to listen . Nearly a lot ain’t go no hope since we have no real collective businesses
