I know this video is about Singapore, but if something like this was implemented in the United States with the $100 to $120 pay raise for the year, I don't find the status quo changing. The reason is that it is not enough. The people who are still struggling will keep doing so. That $100 to $120 extra pay for the entire year won't even really be noticed because of inflation.
