Former Texas police officer found guilty of manslaughter for the shooting death of Atatiana Jefferson at her home | CNN

A former Forth Worth, Texas, police officer was found guilty of manslaughter Thursday in the 2019 shooting of 28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson in her home.

I wonder how much time will he be sentenced to. Regardless, I doubt this will send a message to the police not to kill Black people (not POC).

There is a larger problem besides the verdict. The fact that injustice to black people that needs to be remedied needs a whole lot of pressure. Sh*t gotta go viral and taken upon by the black community for normal things.

That's the overall problem. If this didn't get the attention of the black community as a whole as well as countless others, it would be swept under the rug. For every Atatiana Jefferson there are 99 other similar cases that go unpunished.

Every single case of injustice based on the person being Jewish, Gay, White killed by a non white, gets swift justice. THAT is the problem. We have open and shut cases and no justice until it goes viral and even then its often 50/50. Look at the Breonna Taylor case, breaks my heart. It took a lot of pressure to get a wee bit of punishment.

That's what we have to focus on y'all. That any one of us or our loved can can be injured or killed and it goes unpunished and they often blame the victim.

I'm happy for the family in this specific case, however a larger problem still occurs regularly.

Of course it was murder one, but you know the deal..that's harder to prove and they want to make sure they get the conviction

Its really all about the sentencing, He can still get a murder-like sentence

This brother here is voicing his surprise as a lot of us are, but again as i said before i predicted/expected a guilty verdict. Same with Guyger, Chauvin, McMichaels. These are slam dunk cases because their actions were just too egregious.

If you understand the enemy and the nature of the white devil you understand that even the most bigoted can be appeal to... like how even the most wild aminal can be tamed.

There IS a point where they concede. They put the onus on the victim of their evil to appeal to their humanity, like a litmus test.

In this case and the above mentioned there wasn't enough gray area to EXPLOIT like in the Trayvon Martin or Mike Brown cases etc.

99 times out of 100 they're gonna make it clear their humanity was not appealed to, but there is definitely a path to "justice" if you understand how to navigate the truth.

They'll unfortunately always take it as challenge to turn things up a notch.
The only deterrent is massive economic damages, justice from the streets, harsher laws that are enforced properly, and harsh unrelenting sentences that they love giving to Black people.

And let's not forget that this is the same thing they did to Amir Locke recently. I wonder what is going on with Amir Locke's case as well and if any of the race soldiers with badges are being charged with his wrongful murder.

Currently the “law” doesn’t even apply to me in my state. I realize it’s almost just trash talk. But that’s how I’ve been operating for the past 2 years. I drive with no license plate, and flout the traffic laws whenever I feel like. The pigs have become too scared to pull me over. As far as I see it until I get my just day in a court of law, they have NO right to impersonate law enforcement to enforce the so-called “law” against me.

That’s always the bottom line. What would happen if the situation was reversed? We know. In the best scenario, this squeaky clean pre med grad protecting her nephew would NEVER see the outside of a prison again. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. No MD, no internship, no practice, no courtships, no wedding, no children, no trips, no grandkids, no home, nothing.

How would one go about inflicting economic damage on a broader justice system (besides litigation and pension control) ? What do we need to do outside of marching and protests ? Cause we need to start moving towards solutions
