A few too many Beckies but I was surprised at how many have sisters as wives or girlfriends. A bit too much of the 'light skin-did' thing as well but at least they are black.

The WAGs of Basketball and Football Stars - Family and Pets

Just like their husbands and boyfriends, the wives and girlfriends of basketball and football stars are often in the spotlight. Let's look!

I noticed that a lot of black athletes do opt to marry white women. I do not know why. It always seemed weird to me. You could probably have some of the most beautiful black women in the world and you settle for someone that will look old by 40.

On a Twitter space someone with deep knowledge of the NBA’s recruiting methods mentioned that athletes are recruited in their teens, removed from their environments and basically retrained to be compliant and fit into white society. Spending all those years among white folks means less time with Black women, so it makes sense.

If they smoke and spend lots of time in the sun in their teens and 20s, it ages them terribly. I noticed with certain ethnicity, some don't age nearly as bad but the ones that don't age as bad usually come from a background of people spending a lot of time in the sun like Italians.

Us as well. The sun rays are vitamins for our skin. I don't know one Black person that got skin cancer from the sun.

Funny you should mention, skin cancer isn't caused by the sun. I looked into it more. It is caused by diet primarily. When you don't give your body what it needs, your skin ends up prone to damage and pale skin is at a much higher risk because the natural skin protection just ain't there. We have that in our favor but the pale people have the advantage of producing more D3 in less time. They have the risk but benefit in that way. I am fine with needing to spend more time outdoors. I don't burn and it feels amazing being in nature.

I see them burn a lot in the sun. Sun protection products make loads of money each summer.

I never once used it. I am one of those nurses that looks very deep into chemicals and whatnot. That stuff bakes on your skin. It is no healthy. If you are going to use anything, you gotta use coconut oil (virgin) cause it has natural SPF and the fat content is good for your skin. I got one of my pale friends to switch over to it from that Banana Boat BS and she already looks 5 years younger. I use it as a moisturizer year round.

I make my own beauty products. Shea & Cocoa butter is good for our skin as well.

Most the top black athletes I have seen up close, knew had single moms. And they were usually far above the rest in middle school into high school and those moms were always telling them to 'watch out for' the Quoquonecia types, from the hood and not to get them pregnant. They inadvertently made their sons not trust sisters.

Not women in general but sisters because they were the most likely to get pregnant knowing their son has a good chance at the NBA or NFL. The only time I hear warnings about white girls wasn't that they would get pregnant but if her peoples or white people in general react a certain way.

2 different type of warnings.
