Black Teen Suicide Rates Are Rising.
I feel like this is a failure or schools, family, and just unstableness in the system. The fact that these rates got higher than whites should really be having people ask questions. They probably don't even count the cases where these young boys join gangs just to get shot. Like they don't want to live so they find a means for someone else to take their lives. Also cases of drug overdoses too.
I think it's the internet. Our kids are more influenced buy cacs than we were.
They have no classic black shows to look at, now it's Mr. Beastb and other online weirdos.

I think another thing that could be in play is how hopeless and lonely things can feel for Black kids.
If your parents aren’t giving you hope and showing you how to navigate in this changing landscape then you will not see a place for you in the future.
I am thankful for my parents. I never grew up feeling like I wasn't good enough. Black children, especially boys, need to be guided and given a foundation for success. They need to be told it is harder to succeed because of racism but it is not impossible. There are ways around it, especially when we network.
