I’m new to baking so keep that in mind when you see my crust. Here it is right out of the oven. I’m can’t cut it yet.

Thanks man. If you’re using regular flour it’s much easier to work with. Gluten free flours are getting better but I’d recommend a standard flour. I added flour, salt, acv, sugar, and mixed for a bit and then chopped the butter up and added it to the mix in little chunks.
Then once the butter got to little chunks I started go slowly add water. Once it was done I rolled it into a ball and put it in the fridge.
I never made a cheesecake before. I didn't even think you could do it gluten free but I guess it makes sense you can. Most things can be made this way. Looks bomb! One of my favorite varieties is with pineapple, believe it or not. Must have gotten it from my dad since he loves that fruit.

Gluten free dough is hard to work with it. Much more stickier than regular dough. Im getting better with it though and the flavor of the cheesecake is amazing.
Doesn't look bad. I know a vegan or gluten free cheesecake can be good, did you substitute some of the sugar also?
That's something that we also have to deal with ... Our health, too much sugar , really not good ... All these diabetes places popping up in our communities, it's sad (it's preventable, and those places want to keep making money, so they want you to do harm to get you hooked, etc) ... Sorry for the tangent :)
Nah I didn’t substitute the sugar. Since I already have to live by an alternative diet I don’t like to compound diets ontop of one another when trying to learn new recipes. Like I don’t like vegan and gluten free things combined because it makes the food extremely artificial. So I nail the recipe with the only substitution being gluten and then work from there to make it more healthy.
If I was making cheesecakes on the ship I’d start selling them. My cheesecake takes much better than the one on Royal Caribbean. It is actually what inspired me to make one because I had such a wack one on the ship. When I got home on Friday I was like “you know what I’m making a cheesecake today”.
Hahahahaaha! Jay’s Black owned cheesecake would sell out! 😋 Royal Caribbean should be ashamed of themselves. You should write a review titled “Royal Caribbean’s nasty cheesecake”. 😩
The Main Dining Room is trash but the premium restaurants be putting in work. The Windjammer buffet on the ship is good too.
If someone wants to make that Community it's wide open. My next thing I'm going to make is Creme Brûlée.
