A day before Dave Chappelle’s Untitled documentary is set to screen at the Hollywood Bowl and the comedian is expected onstage, his new Netflix special The Closer is generating a growing backlash over remarks about the trans and LGBTQ+ communities.

“Gender is a fact,” Chappelle declares in the special, which debuted on the streamer Tuesday. “Every human being in this room, every human being on earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on earth,” he adds, conspicuously negating C-sections, which make up about a third of all births in America alone. “That is a fact,” Chappelle goes on to say before launching into an anatomy line that “trans women” genitalia are “not quite what it is.”

These haters can go have a dildo fight somewhere else. He has been saying it like it was for years. They are only mad now because it is socially acceptable to be mad. They can't laugh at themselves and have no backbones. I know plenty of fans of his who are gay, bi, etc. and they know what they are getting themselves into when going to his shows. It isn't like he hides it.

Like you do you but don't get mad at us because we want to have fun in life. Some people just love being miserable and misery loves company. I am all for people being themselves but these groups are basically cults at this point using these people to make money and push political agendas. At least more people are waking up to that fact.

Yes. Dave said that empathy goes both ways and I don’t feel like that is the case here. We either 100% agree with them or we are the enemy which makes no space for those who accept you but don’t partake.

Comedy is about making fun of everything though. That's the beauty in it. Comedy also makes light of tragic events in our world. I think most people have common sense to understand comedy is joking, and not to be taken seriously. If you don't like the brand of comedy someone does, don't watch them.

Blasting Chappelle for what he says, will only cause more people to view his special. Because let's face it, when a group or anyone decides to say how offensive it is, it tends to backfire and draw more publicity to it anyway. So GLADD is probably helping Chappelle by complaining about his comedy.

My view is simple, if you don't like the comedy, ignore the person. You can't be hurt by something if you ignore that artist. It should never be up to an artist to change their comedy to appease every damn person in the world. That's crazy.

We don't actually get different parts, the same parts just develop differently. So the only real difference between the genders is time. All males are basically trans. Gender used to mean male/female just as sex did. It became a more broad description in using man/woman but at the core just means penis or vagina. When people started attaching feminine and masculine to the term, that is when things got changed. I can't remember the person's name but a university teacher started it back in the 70s I think. No one took it seriously until around like 2010 and that is around the time people started just acting like it was factual.

I think people need to understand that some men are more feminine and some women are more masculine but this doesn't change their gender. This gender identity crap is BS and they just used trans issues to push it through. It is like a giant pyramid scheme of people using each other to get what they want at this point.

Like there are people saying "bug" is a gender now. Like no, that is a nickname. The f you smoking?

People that identify as the opposite sex is a real thing. like you said, being bullied by that community is what I have a problem with, and the agenda that's clearly unfolding. No other group tries to force their views, life style or agendas except White supremist and the alphabet group.

Yup and as Dave said both groups often are indistinguishable from one another. What's problematic is that when we have this dialogue we are called transphobic and that we're anti-LGBT but we're not. I love LGBT, I want them to live life and have freedom and happiness, if my son was gay I'd love him just the same and tell him not to bring a pants sagging low life negro in my house...but I don't want dudes in the female bathroom, I don't want to date dudes with wigs just cuz they think they a woman, I don't want dudes putting on wigs and getting in woman's sports, I don't want men in woman's bathrooms because they have a wig on.

I haven't watched the special yet, hoping to sometime this weekend, but from what I heard, it wasn't that bad even. Learn to take a joke, that's my best advice. I'm sure there are many in the GLAAD community or LGBTQ community that love Chappelle and the comedy he does, and probably laugh at many of the jokes that are at their expense. I mean come on, comedy reaches through some of the worst things imaginable. Without comedy, I doubt we could recover from how messed up this world is.

I'm reminded of hearing white people say they created capitalism and/or democracy. They did not make these things, they discovered them. We tend to think we make things in this universe, but everything is actually already here. This reality is infinite because it was created by a being that is infinite.

I second this. If anything, a baby starts off in a neutral state and if no testosterone in fusion it will follow the female blueprint. If testosterone, it follows the male blueprint. It doesn’t start off as female.

The human does not have any more autonomy than a blade of grass. We just think we do because we perceive the mind's thoughts and the body's actions. Free will belongs to who we actually are, the one Self. We are not the body. "God" made us in his image. That nigga ain't a human body. As the one Self, we are doing exactly what we want to do. Who are you (thinking with the body's mind) to tell Us (the one infinite Self) what rules we must obey in a universe of our own making?

I agree, every movement has "weirdos" but who am I to judge myself in another body? Who am I to decide my other self is too weird (barring harming another self)? We don't actually need them (our other selves) to tell us where the line of sincerity is before it becomes a "weird" moment that's blown out of proportion. We have the power to figure that out and we will need to learn how to as "weird" moments will always be blown out of proportion. Often (probably mostly if not all), the issue isn't that the movement doesn't account for the "weirdos" but rather we want to believe the "weirdos" are the movement.

I'm reminded of a STRUCTURAL similarity regarding the Reparations argument. When white people ask about "how," it does not matter how civilized, well spoken, logical, workable or thorough the plan is, they will always say it won't work, it's a bad plan or it's not a good idea. Because that's what they WANT to believe.

On one hand, you're talking about 2 entirely different species (we haven't gotten advanced enough for trans species yet). On the other hand, you're citing a caricature, creating a strawman argument. Not saying it never happens (although if it does, they probably aren't actually LGBT [but maybe that's another thread]) but it's pretty obvious, that's not the movement and/or needs further investigation to determine.

I'm generally not talking about white supremacy specifically, I was pointing to a metaphysical structure using an example that's easy for me that I thought would be most visible to you.
