For example, "I don't agree with homosexuality" is offensive because you are literally denying reality, triggering the past/current experience of being denied complete/equal humanness many homosexuals experience. You are essentially saying their humanness is dependent upon whether you agree with it or not. Doing this might elicit negative backlash, but it's not really about you.Of course, in this circumstance, you have your on issues to deal with like "why am I resisting this part of reality?" So you saying that doesn't actually have anything to do with them.Basically, neither person in this situation is actually reacting to the other person, but something within themselves. Both parties would benefit from self inquiry.
