This is a very sad scenario, and this happens a lot more times than most people would think. There are many different reasons as to one a significant other would stay in an abusive relationship. I won't go into the details because I feel as if the reasons are pretty self explanitory. I'm sorry that you had to encounter this, I hope everything ends up working out for them and one decides to leave.
