Since a few threads got on the topic of survival if ish hits the fan, I thought this could make for a fun discussion. I am fascinated with how the mind works and how humans are capable of doing some pretty insane things when their survival (or their family’s survival) is on the line. What can I say? I like some far-out topics lol

One thing I always looked into was prepping. I am no tin hat nut by any means but I have to respect people who are prepared and have a plan if things get heavy. I have looked into options for water filtration, watched videos on how to grow food, hunt, skin, and everything. I am still a long way away from knowing most of this stuff, but I see nothing wrong with people having this kind of knowledge. If it came down to it, people who know how to clean water, get access to food, know how to arm themselves and run an ongoing supply will be the ones who survive.

So let’s discuss what things we can do to prepare without getting to a point of paranoia.

That don’t look pretty on anyone lol

Doomsday prepping is one of those things everyone laughs at but the prepper will be a god when that day comes and you need a backup supply.

I think some good things to have are:

    • Couple weeks of water supply
    • Canned goods
    • Toilet paper

The biggest issue is having the space to either farm or stock goods. That's the challenge I have, I dont have enough space to prep properly.

That's probably something I should look into more. I live in the hurricane state and I don't even have a good hurricane emergency kit

I used to think that preppers were crazy, but seeing what happened to the people in Texas last winter has changed my mind.
If my family has to hunker down, I have enough supplies to last for a short time.

Same with New Yorkers during Sandy, if you didnt have backup supplies of batteries and etc you was assed out.

Work on having skills and not just hoarding resources in my personal opinion.

We have stuff to survive for about a month, but I'm an electrician by trade and i do research on how/possible repairing damaged powerlines, transmitters etc.

That is what sucks! Like unless you have a house where you can stock up a basement, you run out of room so fast. I am probably just going to get one of those water filter jugs that lasts 5 years so I don't have to worry about water. That takes up the most room. Going to stock up on batteries and some peroxide as well.

This is the most important post in the thread. You have to be able to produce in these situations because resources are finite, you need to be able to replenish from scratch.

People are gonna be like... I wish I had listened to all these prepper folks. My family overall are not prepping like they should. They live their lives for NOW and not like major things can happen without warning.
