Whether or not you agreed with his politics, Gen. Powell always displayed class, dignity, and honor. He gave the world a positive image of a strong & noble Black man.
May he rest in peace.

    I aint tryn attack u but wat did this nigga ever do for black people? I thought we was gettin a way from first negro syndrome and thats what this nigga’s allure was. same shit wit obama first black pres but nigga signing blue alert laws. this nigga just like barack was symbolism. Id write this shit about malcolm but never colin.

    With all due respect, I get where you're coming from but this is a strange question. Gen. Powell's job was to chair the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and he did that honorably. He served the country that Black people built, but he didn't just serve Black people.
    I guess if you want a different answer, I could say that he kept Black Americans safe from foreign invaders. I suppose I could also mention his charitable organization which provided educational funding for Black youth. I could probably also mention his speaking engagements at Black organizations and HBCUs.
    Gen. Powell was unapologetically Black at a time and in a job where that was risky to his life and his career. He lived Black, he married Black, and he inspired Black people worldwide.
    You might think he was a token negro, but I'll give the man his due respect.
