GTA 6 Will Reportedly Feature a First Female Playable Character, and Add New Cities Over Time - IGN

GTA 6 will reportedly feature a female playable character in its campaign for the first time. Rockstar apparently plans to launch the game with a single city, but add more locations over time through updates.

Some articles have stated Rockstar saying she will be a "hero"... Like excuse me? Have you ever played your own damn games? The characters are meant to be pieces of shit. You are not meant to play as these characters and want to be like them. But since it is a Latina woman, do they have to make her a hero?

People making jokes that you wont be "wasted" when you get killed, you'll be "canceled".

I saw some other jokes saying that you will get an instant 5 star for misgendering one of the NPCs.

That's hilarious. Although, Rockstar has always stated they would have a game with a latina lead(there were talks that was the plan for 5 at first) I always thought it was because they were going to make Catalina a playable character finally. (If you don't know Catalina, Google her. Bitch is a legendary GTA character. and certified psycho asshole). But like the comments suggest, them getting all "White Woke" is going to kill the game. what made GTA epic was how they made fun of and basically outright shitted on EVERYONE!! I am officially concerned for my beloved franchise.

Honestly GTA series peaked in the PS2 era none of the GTA's since have come close to GTA San Andreas and that's a shame and now it's going to be like every other open-world game with a bland main lead

It's a very common thing with most game's that are based on series. The older one's seems to have more creativity and uniqueness all round. What they are all focused more on now is making money and Rockstar have been doing that for years now. It's even why they are still milking GTA 5 hard.

Catalinia would have been a solid choice but you know we are going to get some shell of a woman character that no one can enjoy playing as. I will leave room for me to be proven wrong but I feel like this is going to be the lowest-selling GTA in history. At least until online launches, assuming they do that right.

I don't think people are mad about the female lead, they are mad about the direction they seem to be taking GTA where the protagonist is going to be painted as a hero instead of a criminal.

Oh snap!! I forgot to mention that as well! I am NOT going to be cool with that. They want effing Heros then make a sequel to L.A. Noire. Make a Max Payne 4. GTA is for the anti-hero.

Yup! I wanted an L.A. Noire remake honestly but it seems like they aren't bringing it back. I loved playing through that game.

GTA is meant to be the player who experiences life and choices through a criminal mindset, not playing as some "hero". The f Rockstar.

I swear when Lazlow Jones, Leslie Benzies and Dan Houser left (3 of the 4 cornerstones of the company.), I sensed even then, that Rockstar was going to morph into something it's fanbase won't recognize after awhile. And now it's starting to look like those fears are upon us. RDR2 very well may be it's last hurrah.

Yeah and they mentioned toning down sexism and other stuff in the game as well. Who is asking for this crap?

I’m fine with having a female protagonist for once! I doubt she’s gonna be a likeable character. (I hope she’s not, we’ll wait and see.) I haven’t played any of the newer GTA titles, just the PS2 era ones. If Rockstar completely changes the formula of the game, it’s gonna be a hard pass for me.

From what I understand, there will be three main characters and two of them will be a couple, one of which will be the Latina lead. I wish I could find the article that was painting her out to be a hero but I can't seem to find it. I am guessing she is going to turn on the other two to "be the hero" in some way, shape, or form.

Either way a lot of people are not getting their hopes up, not until more information comes out.

To be very honest, I'm not sure if I would be getting GTA 6 when it's released. I think I have been exhausted at GTA 5 and that's going to be the last GTA franchise I would be playing.
