Dating apps and dating sites have gotten worse over the years. I tried using dating sites in the past, and they have worked for me to some extent, but in recent memory they've gotten worse. POF and Okcupid, the two free services you can use, are owned by Match.com, a paid for dating site. I used to be on both the free sites, but they became worse when match came in. I don't know how many fake accounts I encountered.And the women who were on there, happened to be women with 3 kids or more and often wanted to get married right away. The others were there just for hookups. And hey, good on you, but I'm looking for a stable relationship myself. So like nah, dating sites are a pass for me these days.
