It's one of the most corny things that have happened, and now I'm seeing a lot of non black people use them. The fact that the word hotep is being used as a pejorative is disappointing to say the least, but now it's a joke of a word. I don't even know where this went wrong; all of a sudden around 2017 or so I started seeing black folk, mostly of the alt left variation, utilize this and now it's gotten out of hand. I just saw a "Hotep Mao" posted on Twitter by one of my favorite follows and it's disappointing...am I reading too much into this?
