Pretty much. As i mentioned, "The Expanse" shows that type of depiction very heavily;  which is why I put that show/novel as an example of how the future of independent space and how it would look like under that type of exploration. While we all wish it could be like a Star Trek-ish future I doubt that would be the case its too fantastical.
