The YouTube buzzwords and catchphrases are cute, but they don't work in real life.Who are the candidates in LA that support a real Black agenda? Or anywhere for that matter? I would throw my full support behind a candidate if someone was ten toes down. But I certainly didn;t see it where I live.
Meanwhile, every other ethnic group is gaining ground by showing up to the polls. Nobody is telling them to give up their political muscle.I personally don't think we're going to get what we want playing their game. TO quote Jason Black, "our survival should not be up for a vote."
Flip that around. Neither Asians nor Jewis have bought & paid for YouTubers telling them to willingly give up their political power. Instead of using other groups to "yeah but..." and "what about", look what is ACTUALLY being done to us!voting alone isn't going to get things done.....Asians don't vote in large numbers and neither do Jewish groups.....
We have plenty money. We're the largest consumer spending bloc in America.politicians respond to money.....and we ain't got any. We have to buy them off
A lot of us did vote against her, we were outnumbered. There's an extremely old voting mindset here that refuses to educate themselves until it's too late. Just look at the lack of push back John Lewis received. Sure he helped a few people here or there, but overall he did nothing for the community that continuously put him up. There is another Black lady down here (I can't remember her name) that did a LOT for the community. Guess what they did? Voted her out. Now the NPUs are suffering... people don't even show up for those. And the ones that do? Outnumbered by ignorance.Atlanta screwed themselves by not showing up to vote against Fani Maye Willis
I agree with you. Going to vote is only 1 small (but important) step. We have to CONTROL our elected officials, as Dr. Claud Anderson teaches. The political process includes us financing a candidate, voting them into office, and leaning on that candidate once they're in office.I really don't think voting matters unless you can make politicians respond to your demands. Politicians have to be paid for, and must suffer consequences when they don't do what they are paid to do. I agree that voting matters, but just voting for the sake of voting is pointless. Now, we should be building and grooming our own candidates to support our agendas. To your point though, Atlanta screwed themselves by not showing up to vote against Fani Maye Willis and we see how that turned out. I think you're looking at a symptom and not the problem itself, the problem isn't voting as much as Blacks aren't politically educated on voting in our best interests. How many people (Black or white or other) can name their local alderman, city council memmebrs or congresspeople? At teh saem time, I'm only really giving my online time to 2 or 3 political channels at most, so I don't know what everyone is saying. Too much disinformation on all sides......but its hard to really be educated when folks are struggling to make ends meet. We're still in survival mode as people and its keeping us from actualizing as a unit.
Good point. A lot of people only think about Presidential elections when you mention voting. Meanwhile, racist judges, sheriffs, comptrollers, school board members, mayors, aldermen, delegates, state senators, etc. are all voted into office because we don't show up on local election day.A lot of us did vote against her, we were outnumbered. A lot of Black people do not show up to vote or participate at a community level. And the people they do end up supporting, essentially stab them in the back with no consequences.
If anything, people need to get involved at Community levels first. The people running for office show up at community meetings, in addition to police reps, emergency service reps, school reps, etc. A LOT happens there, but the people are nowhere to be found.
(Disclaimer: I am speaking about what happens in Atlanta.)

Can't even start with the racist judges, we have judges here that don't want to work. They run unopposed and people act surprised when court takes forever and a day.Good point.
