He's from California. The Mexican Americans who go to prison from below Bakersfield, California have Blacks as their enemy in prison. Don't matter how cool you are on the street, in prison you will have to riot against blacks if called upon.

That said, once out you can pretty much eff with who wanna eff with unless they are a designated enemy gang. Also, in prison the white boys are aligned with southern California prisoners. Not the northern (bay area, etc) Mexican Americans (long story, they are cool with blacks).

I say that to say this, he won't mind signing with a white record label though? Unless its a white ex con they were allied with, they see white boys the same as blacks do more or less. That they don't like them and are bigoted.

All that said, and although there are more than enough latinos to support latino hip hop, the culture is still black and you gotta go through blacks to make it big, meaning if we don't f*ck with you, you will have a very hard time making it.

    Are we suprised, like really?

I am getting to a point where I feel like some segregation is good. Like if we are choosing it. Keep these people out of our black spaces and let them make their own. I am all for people getting along and respecting each other but it is clear there are disconnections and we can't share spaces with people who are looking to destroy us, disrespect us, or throw us under the bus. I feel like if black people had their own spaces that were for blacks to thrive be it in music, business, or even movie making, we would dominate. Maybe that is what they are afraid of.
