It depends. If your play style is to complete everything then yeah, a lot of them will be too damn long. I don't need to complete everything or unlock everything. My main focus is almost always the story. For most games that will not take nearly as long to complete. The stories themselves (if you focus on nothing but the main missions) are often under 10 hours. Have you ever played the Fable games? I was able to sit down and beat the entire game (Fable III) in under 7 hours. That game came out in 2010 though so it is a bit dated at this point.
