I didn't know they had a lot of free games to play on there. As much as I like gaming on PC, I feel like I am bored with it because all my offline friends are on console so I am left on my own with the few online gaming friends I have.

So yeah, I am going to get an XBOX but I am not sure which I should get.

Should I get the Series S? or Series X? or just get the standard One?

I am looking to buy used or refurb to save some money. I haven't managed to find a used/refurb Series X though.

From what I read, the earliest we will see a next gen console is 2026 so I would imagine the Xbox One will be killed off next year for new games. So yeah, I think I will skip out on that.

I noticed there are two different Xbox Series S's. One is digital and one is not. What is up with that?

Okay so go with the digital one then.

I haven't been able to find the X anywhere new or used. I will probably just get the digital version from Gamestop used.

I suggest getting a refurbished Series X, the specs are better than the One and Series S. Plus if you want to save storage on the ssd, you can buy physical games. Game pass is great, I've discovered games I probably never would have tried if I didn't have game pass. I'm more into owning physical games but if you don't mind having digital titles go with the S. It's cheaper, and is still better than the Xbox One.

I'm a Playstation fan but I know a few things about Xbox consoles because a lot of my friends make use of it and I have played on few of them. Don't go for Xbox Series S, it won't give you full advantage to maximise your playing. If you have the money, go for X series. It's almost as good as PS5.

So I figured out why I was confused. LOL

I thought the Xbox One S was new. There are two models of that one, the digital and non-digital. The one I want is the Xbox Series X which came out in 2020. I have found it refurbed for $260 but I may as well spend another $30 and get it new. It is $290 on Amazon.

That’s Microsoft’s fault for their stupid naming conventions.

XBOX One X is too close to Series X. If you don’t follow the console space you have no way of telling which one is the newer model.

PlayStation is intuitive they have PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, very easy to tell which is the latest model. Then there is PS5 Disc and Discless, super simple.

Microsoft complicated it more by releasing two different Series models Series S and X so not only can you not easily distinguish between gens, you also can’t distinguish between SKUs.

They don't get their timing right, but that doesn't mean their games are not top on the list of games one can play on consoles. Also, they have strong consoles that can last for a very long time without taking it to the technician.

Microsoft has a habit of doing this so I should not be surprised. They make things more complicated than they have to be! I'll be getting paid tomorrow and then I will order it. I would of went with PS5 but I hate their controllers. lol

Getting a new one will always be a better option in my book. If you don't have the money complete now, you can wait it out a little bit more and get it right. I'm always this skeptical when it comes to getting used products especially when it comes to gaming consoles.

I ended up getting the Series S. I would have gotten the X but no one had it in stock new or used. I am fine with the digital version anyway. I can always expand the memory in it.
