I saw a trailer for this the other day. I'll admit I am interested in seeing it, but mostly to see how true to the story it is. If they make a movie on this, I sure hope they show all the bad things. Because I believe Emmett Till's story needs to be told, even if it's in a Hollywood style movie.

The problem I have with it, is that it'll probably be used as some oscar bait, and is probably only going to be made for that very purpose. If they wanted to make a movie about Emmett Till and what happened, they would go into all of the horrible details, including his open casket and why his mother chose to do make it open casket.

But, this is Hollywood we're speaking of, so they'll find a way to tame it down. But I hope they don't tame it down. Because I feel like people are forgetting Emmett Till and what happened to him all those years ago. I think if it gets his story out there even more, I'm all for it. But I would hope all proceeds from this movie go to a good cause that helps black people. Maybe a charity or monetary support for other important causes.

I also hope they don't change anyone's names around. I hope they keep the truth as it was the day it happened.

Whoopi Goldberg lost my respect a long time ago, so I don't take what she has to say seriously. I think I get where she is coming from, but I still think there's a time and a place where justice should be served, and Justice has yet to be served up against Carolyn Bryant.
