Alpo was a sadistic person. I remember reading an interview he gave where he detailed exactly how and why he killed Rich and it was so crazy and demented. Rich did violate if Alpo's word is to be believed but I don't think a murder was the right course of action. From what I remember, they would get:

• Drugs for X + 2 through Rich's connect.
• Rich found a new connect and was able to get the drugs at X + 1
• He kept charging Alpo X + 2 and pocketing the +1 and Alpo found out and killed him.
