The United States has slacked in energy independence over the past several years, and Cyber Warefare in the United States could be catastrophic for many reasons. As you've mentioned, banks could be shut down, water supply could be shut down, and a lot of other situations could arise from such an attack. I can only imagine that if this happens, people will begin going crazy, I can picture people looting, stealing, killing, and doing whatever they need to survive. In this type of situation, I would expect to see Martial Law declared. In conclusion, it is extremely necessary to start preparing by whatever means.
