That song was one of the coolest disses I heard in a minute and reminded me of the days when MCs used to call out other MCs, fools, clowns, and frauds. Then after Lil Pump got mad, J Cole decided to meet with him and do very friendly a sit-down / interview on video and basically became friends at the end. Like wtf? That beef wasn't real? I lost a lot of respect for J Cole after he pulled that BS.
Now I didn't want a deadly rap beef where someone ended up dead unjustly, but damn it I only wanted a good rap beef that would either kill careers or at least set things straight. Imagine how different hip hop would be right now if we had enough legends, icons, and veterans calling out the BS, the culture vultures, and BS 'artists.'
