That was almost 1 in every 2 families having their own business. I have to wonder what happened here. Now it is something like less than 8%. I also was reading the statistics for marriage and co-op parenting. At the same time, 85% of black households were married or co-opting parents. Thomas Sowell has a strong stance on this in blaming the welfare state for ruining the black businesses, the black household/family, and the black community. He says in one generation of being on a welfare state, all of this was destroyed. I think the police state plays a role but I am not sure what he thinks about that.

What are your thoughts on this?

I never understood this. Like what the hell happened? Hard work is needed to run and manage a business, did people just get lazy or something?

I am by no means qualified to manage a business and I likely wouldn't be able to handle the stress but I feel like I was raised under the presumption that it is better to work under someone else's thumb than be my own boss because it is easier so that mindset has been engraved in me. I have to think for a lot of other people out there, this has to be a big reason.

Yes. One thing I struggle with is hindsight. I can clearly see in retrospect that it was a bad idea but would I have thought that then? Would I have agreed with Malcolm X when he was alive? I don’t know but I have to move forward with the info I got.

Im sorry on some levels integration was the biggest con game that ever happened to my parents generations . Some things integration brought needed to happen like better health care and and access to better jobs, and blatant racism had to end but as a child born in the 80s i wanted that community that my parents had growing up . Im no historian im just a black guy that wanted a nice peaceful place to be as a kid

I totally agree. I probably would've been part of THEM who didn't like the philosophies of Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., or even that of Dr. Claud Anderson, who has been preaching the gospel for decades.

It's the massive individualism in Black culture. A large percentage of BP don't know how to play their role and think they are massively more important than they actually are. This is coming from someone who currently manages employees and has had her own employees at one point.

I know plenty people will blame it on integration and WP. But at this point in time there is nothing stopping BP from forming business and working together...nothing.

I think forced diversity is the biggest load of BS this country has ever been fed. I think it is fine when it happens naturally and gradually but forcing it? That is never good for anyone. If people want to live among their own kind be it through skin color, culture, wealth, or religion is shouldn't be looked at as a bad thing. Let people do what the f they want. I live in a mixed community and have not had any issues but everyone is on the same page for the most part in taking care of the community and looking out for each other best we can. When you have a community of people who only look out for themselves, doesn't matter how diverse or lack thereof it is, it is going to face a lot of problems. Just my take on this stuff.
