I'm standing on this 10 toes down. If who created Hip Hop is not that important, then why does everyone work so hard to say they created it? Our music influenced Ska and Reggae and so many others but you don't hear us claiming the culture that others created. We actually have every right to do so!!

Way back in the day, going back even a hundred years or so, American blacks (FBAs) weren't going to the islands that much. The islands were coming to Florida to do seasonal work (farm work) and going back. Not sure but I think my pops grandfather maybe did that in Florida. So I would imagine, logically, they picked up the music, other things and brought it back. Because the traffic was one way.
