Wells Fargo sued for discriminating against black homeowners
Wells Fargo must like bad press & class action suits.
They got busted some years back for illegally opening lines of credit for their clients, and that lawsuit cost them billions.
I hope they get sued again.
For Black Americans to have lasted this long under this non-stop racism is impressive. Every single aspect of this country is against us. Think about just the whole real estate market.
They want to make sure that you are never in a position of comfort. If any interaction cannot result in some type of abuse they don’t want to deal with you.
- They control which neighborhoods you can live in because you’re Black.
- When you find a property you like, they give you a bad rate because you‘re Black.
- If you want to refinance, they deny you because you are Black.
- When you want to sell your home, they undervalue it because you‘re Black.
They want to make sure that you are never in a position of comfort. If any interaction cannot result in some type of abuse they don’t want to deal with you.
The moral of the story is that we need to BANK BLACK.

Yes Sis it is. The SBA is TOTALLY useless for FBA's. They told me my business plan for a smoke shop wasn't "Economically viable". But they gave Mr. Wombey a low interest low for his wife to open a African attire here in town.
Oh yeah and ther are now 3 GD smoke shops here in tome along with a gang Medical and Recreational pot shops, 2 are white owned and 1 is a Hobbi Dobbi who's brother owns a BP gas station down the same street of Michigan Ave. These so called white friends (Well before Trump) helped me set up a sales booth at the local trade center and I was doing well until they closed it in 2014.
I had a good run from 2009-2014 but I should have started my online store on ebay at the same time. It's like I am playing catch up.
Totally understood. My husband mentioned that as well, selling our products on sites like eBay, Amazon, Daily Sales, etc.
Of course they take a percentage, but if you're using multiple sites, you'll have multiple streams of income that surpass their fees.

I hope some of the Black owned banks give better service. I bank with OneUnited and there’s a lot of little things they can do to make it a better experience. A lot of the way you interface with them is archaic AF. In addition, they have Mexicans working in the Los Angeles branch. I was like WTF.

And if you find the property you like, you may eventually find out that the property is in a neighborhood or area with unfriendly, inconsiderate, racist neighbors that will ignore your existence, disregard your needs, treat you differently in a bad way, and/or display open hostility and try to give you and your family a hard time at least. And then you will be trying to find a way to sell the house and move the hell out of there as fast as possible, especially if shit is going down or about to go down.
And don't get me started on racist and/or incompetent contractors that will do a shoddy job "fixing" up your place while overcharging you. And do not forget the racist and/or difficult landlords or slumlords that can give you a hard time (especially with lack of repairs) if you are renting.

Yes those are all funded by the SBA with no problems with a shotty business plans and all. Chips stacked against me but I was able to find funding to open a smoke shop. I should have opened my ebay store at the same time I opened at the trade center.

A white that sounded like the damn feds, who claimed to be from ebay, called out of the blue and wanted to verify my id, but I thought it was a scam attempt so I hung up on them. Turns out that person was legit from ebay and they banned my account soon after. I haven't been able to reach them since and they refuse to fix it or reveal why I was banned.
And since my personal info shows that I'm an obviously a person of FBA descent, that professional "white voice" tactic might not work in this case, especially when money and freedom are involved.
