I'm from South Carolina and I know some old men who can make bbq sauce like that too, so I know exactly what you mean. Makes store-bought mass-produced bbq taste like nothing. Nothing like the good ole local bbq shop. We don't have it here in FL. Folk be doing stuff here but it don't be right most times. It's hard to get good soul food in South Florida. Even the Soul Food joints be tripping with their infused dishes. I miss good comfort food I don't have to make myself.
