You can promote a healthy diet without dissing our cultural foods. Instead of throwing them to the side, figure out how to make them in a more healthy fashion. Some stuff I had to let go though like chitlins, hog mog, pig feet, etc. But Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Yams, those aint going nowhere. But I also work out, moderate my portions, and recently cut back on my coffee and alcohol consumption. It aint just the soul food alone, its most likely soul food and sedentary lifestyles combined.
