I've thought of doing this before, but have not dared to ask my girl if she'd be into it. That is, an open relationship where we can go ahead and see other people. I don't think she would ever do it, and I bet she'd kill me if I even suggested it. But have any of you's been in a successful open relationship? How did it go?

I’ve never been interested but I think it takes a lot of honesty to make it work. I’ve seen where a couple agrees to it and then one eventually starts to get jealous and it ruins the relationship.

Never been in one and not interested. But I think it's important that if anyone wants to be in one, they be upfront about it so that they don't catch the person they're dating off guard.

I could see the benefit of it in a long-term marriage. After a couple of decades of exclusivity, opening up the relationship to help keep it fresh. The downside would be getting emotionally attached to someone else and destroying the marriage. I’d probably be more inclined to want to bring another woman into the relationship if my woman was bisexual.

Nope. Not interested. I have a hard enough time building and maintaining trust with one person, throw in others and you end up with a mess. I know for some people it works out just fine but those are some small numbers. Most people can't handle it even if they are open to it at first.

I always believed that partners that went into an open relationship didn't love each other till I grew older. To me, there is no big deal as long as both of you will agree on practicing safe sex. This is important for those that are in a long distance relationship as you will to have sex once in a while to feel better.

Why not come out open and not be in any relationship and just have your fun because as far as I know it, being in an open relationship is not being serious with any relationship. It's all about jumping from one person to another all in the name of open relationship. I'm never interested with such relationship arrangements.

A man who has no issues with another man smashing his wife is on some cuckold thing. Call it what it is. The only issue I would have is if there are kids involved. Yeah, you do your best to keep the kids from y'all's personal business but you better be prepared for that possibility. And if you have some sort of fame or notoriety, it will be out there as well.
