I just read a good article about this issue. I first noticed the schism between FBA kids and Black immigrant kids in high school in Brooklyn. I noticed it the most with Haitian kids.

What are your thoughts on the manner in which Black immigrants come to America, exploit the work of FBAs for their gain and remain detached from the FBA history, experiences and pain? I personally am torn. On one hand, I hate to see any Black person suffer. On the other hand, I have no desire to lock arms with any Black person born abroad who feels more kinship with European descendants than us. The Haitian Border Crisis is a good example.

Black Americans have been the metaphorical person in the prison being ultra nice to everyone. It was not met with love and loyalty it was exploited by cutthroat savages who stepped on us the first chance they got.

I clearly said “part of the problem” I didn’t absolve immigrants of any culpability. But pointing fingers at immigrants is highlighting the symptom. The problem is:

• We are the bottom caste in a racial hierarchy
• We are too passive, inclusive, and crave acceptance

So we can call out the coons but we gotta do the work too.

I think a lot of the hate we get from immigrants boils down to straight up jealousy. No other explanation, FBA for the most part mind our business. Being an FBA, I could see why they'd be jealous.

I don't hate Black immigrants. I actually pity them. Most of them don't even know their own national history. It's sad when I know more about the history of Nigeria, Liberia, Guyana and Jamaica than its own citizens do.

The end goal for me is FBAs must understand that we have no allies. None. No one who is for us would come to America and take pride in allowing themselves to be weaponized against FBAs, but that's exactly what many of them do.

I'm as yellow as a banana, yet I am proud to call myself a Black man. Most Africans and Caribbeans will react like you spit on their grandma if you refer to them as "Black". So have we been done wrong? Yes. But we would be in a different situation if the previous two generations prioritized other Black Americans. Instead they took the White man’s ice is colder and said the immigrants ice is colder.

Do you remember the film 'Black Panther'? Do you remember how T'Challa's father killed his own brother in that Oakland housing projects apartment over Vibranium without even blinking an eye? Do you also remember when Black Panther captured Klaw in South Korea, but refused to kill him because "the world is watching"? In other words, Black Panther's father had no hesitancy about killing his own brother, but Black Panther felt humanity towards the man who murdered that same father years earlier with a bomb at the U.N. This film was a brilliant depiction of the mental and spiritual illness that grips Black people worldwide.

I don't know why you're repeated the failures of Africa no one is caping for Africa. We know it's a failed continent. We know it's been colonized and dumb niggas like Mobutu sell their people out to the Europeans for a Mercedes Benz.

If you can't see how this brotha is part of our liberation story then we have to agree to disagree. I'm all about our re-enlightment as Black Americans...I'm a proud Black American but my story is a page in a large book about Africa. I'm not separate from Africa...

• I'm hated by the US because I'm African.

This is disingenuous, we were forced into Blackness by our oppressor. The second the boot was slightly lifted off our neck we acted similar to all the other colonized Black people and started kissing the White Man's ass. That's why Malcolm X was so polarizing at the time because self-sufficiency and doing for self were not something we stood for as Black Americans. A lot of Black Americans just wanted White acceptance, they would have given up a Black identity and blended into Whiteness in a heartbeat if given the chance.

As Black Americans we were told we were Black and then said "...and proud". Adopting a Black identity when everyone around you is Black doesn't make all that much sense. Now we you factor in a global system of White supremacy, Africans having a unified Black identity makes sense but in a nation of all Black people, nah.

I just read a good article about this issue. I first noticed the schism between FBA kids and Black immigrant kids in high school in Brooklyn. I noticed it the most with Haitian kids.

What are your thoughts on the manner in which Black immigrants come to America, exploit the work of FBAs for their gain and remain detached from the FBA history, experiences and pain? I personally am torn. On one hand, I hate to see any Black person suffer. On the other hand, I have no desire to lock arms with any Black person born abroad who feels more kinship with European descendants than us. The Haitian Border Crisis is a good example.

Yup and I think it's Important that we frame it that way. A lot of people are making it a Us vs. Them where it's FBA vs. Immigrants and that's problematic. It should be On-Code vs. Coons. You're correct but we have to be aware that cooning is not ethnic exclusive so for every Luvi there is, there's a Larry Elder. We should be stomp down about going after coons. Like Brother Jay was saying earlier, if we are on a FBA vs. Immigrant tirade then that would make us against Julius Malema and brothers like that who are fighting for freedom and unity. We have to have balance in how we approach this. We can be pro-FBA without being anti-anything.

If you can't see how this brotha is part of our liberation story then we have to agree to disagree. I'm all about our re-enlightment as Black Americans...I'm a proud Black American but my story is a page in a large book about Africa. I'm not separate from Africa...

• I'm hated by the US because I'm African.
• I'm oppressed in the US because I'm African.
• My hair, nose, height, calves, everything about me is clearly African.

We have to be able to think short-term and long-term. Short-term as Black Americans we need to circle the wagons and advocate for self but long-term we need a strong and healthy Africa or else we are screwed.

If you think Africans are hated in America as intensely as FBAs are, then I have some nice beachfront property in North Dakota for sale if you're interested. Most Africans are oblivious to just how much FBAs were brutalized, demonized and humanized in America because a large portion of them still see the white man as God. I have friends in Kenya and Nigeria, so I know what I'm talking about.

I have had really good friends who came to the US for university, and dated this really gorgeous girl whose father was Jamaican. She had zero accent and seemed fully American.

I currently have four of my staff from Kenya. The first curry I tasted, back inn elementary school, was made by a grad student from East Africa.

He was also puzzled by how African Americans spent so much energy on recreation and looking for sex instead of digging in to difficult subjects so they could have financial success after graduation.

He couldn't understand why the way of speech was so different from standard English, and how no one semed to realize that was a career limiting factor.

He also had trouble with the lack of business formation. His goal was to form a business. He did obtain a number of patent in future years.

I have a friend from Nigeria now living in PA. We worked together as paralegals years ago. He had a law degree in Nigeria or London, but never passed the bar exam. He's taken it several times since I last saw him. He told me he's worked various odd jobs over the years since moving from Long Island to PA. Very nice guy, but acting like ALL Nigerians are success stories is comical. There are Nigerians who sit on the Internet all day pretending to be white men/white women and Forex traders -- SCAM ARTISTS. There are many Nigerian women who beg men online for money. So if we want to talk about "model" Blacks like Nigerians, let's also talk about the SCAM ARTISTS and hustlers too, but y'all don't have the balls as men to have that conversation.
