That might be the key thing; in that the person is inherently racist but will be more subtle or codified if they suspect you're on to them and are aware of the BS.
So would that mean that this person is inherently racist? If a person is not aware of the racist stuff they do, it would mean it is their state of being? Being conscious of their racism or their racism is unconscious. How much of a difference would it make?
