Gabe Piemonte is running for alderman in Chicago. His website: Piemonte for Alderman

Recently, MarcelForCongress vetted and endorsed Gabe for his reparationist stance.
While some black people are all in for support, I'm also seeing other black people saying he's anti-black. And overall, I'm seeing a disconnect within the community.

I personally don't know anything about him, but what are your thoughts? Do you know anything about him? Do you think he has black people's best interest at heart? If not, how do you feel about Marcel endorsing him?

I'm inclined to trust Marcel's opinion as a start but I'd do my own research.

I will follow Neely Fuller Jr.'s code pertaining to people classified as White who call out or try to address White Supremacy/Racism.

Watch them with no emotion, and see what they actually do. When White Supremacy is eliminated, only then will I congratulate them and proclaim thier intentions.

He used to get into the 6ZEROS twitter conversations and I told him to mind his business. He tries to get into the mix and insert his opinion on Black issues and any Black person allowing that needs to question if they are truly on code.

If he ever signs up here he can listen but can’t chime in or try to direct the conversation. He is an outsider and if he is truly a reparationist he needs to take himself to Bass Pro Shop and try to convince them over there.

Not try to get into Black people’s conversation and direct it.

It may be harsh but any Black person that is letting this guy into our politics is an idiot. We should be like “you for reparations…great kthxbye” but instead he is on spaces taking sides between the different Black subgroups and some of the Black people are supporting him.

I’m beginning to develop a distaste for the Black empowerment community on Twitter. It’s the anti-thesis of “on code”, it’s a bunch faux-Black twitter fingers.

Might be a snake in the grass "reparationist" like Janice Hahn and others were proven to be with this latest scam (and publicity stunt) that targeted Bruce Beach's Black owners and their family. Gavin Newsom seems like a shady individual "reparationist" too as he signed off on it. 👀 Keep an eye on Gavin Newsom too. TL;DR Marcel slandered 6ZEROS because Jay said that we shouldn’t call all Black foreigners ”tether”, only the coons. Marcel went irate, started yelling, and being belligerent and saying that on code Black immigrants shouldn't be offended if they are called a tether and if they are, “fuck their feelings”. After he got done yelling he immediately made a twitter space slandering Jay and different posts over a couple weeks slandering Jay and saying he was caping for immigrants but not defending Black Americans. Which was dumb because Jay made 6ZEROS for us he just doesn’t want it ending up like twitter with a bunch of name calling. Some didn’t like that Jay kicked him off the stage but I didn’t care because Marcel was yelling and would get his ass beat in public yelling at another man like that.

I’m not from Chicago, but have been involved in the reparations fight for a few years. He has been involved, long before he was running for office. A lot of people sounding the alarm are VERY new to the space or they don’t actually put in any work.

Now I think he was very comfortable to be insulting to a group of people who seem to follow pseudoscience. He can get dragged for that because he shouldn’t have felt comfortable speaking like that when he is not our people group. We get on tethers all the time, and definitely should get on white people who do the same.

If he is really about justice, he will survive this, will watch his mouth, and will continue to do the work.

I think no one can answer these questions now as he needs to build trust. That’s my stance for all “allies“ to the reparations movement; they have the burden of proof. So like others have said, I trust Marcel’s vetting but I also understand others apprehension to Gabe. If he can build trust by pushing Freedmen interest at the local level, then he has my support.

I have been tuning out of this non-productive Twitter Space beef nonsense and others need to do the same. I was considering watching the 6ZEROS vs Marcel thing, but it decided against it. I'm not going to let anyone or anything get in the way of supporting our interests, our reparations, and our tangibles.
