One thing we should do is make sure everyone is heard on this matter. Please share your thoughts.

The checklist you have included is the starting point. Many individuals like to pick and choose but we need all of the above. Nothing else is going to put us on the proper path.

I agree with the sentiment all of the above. We deserve the world for what we have contributed to this society and the modern world at large.

As far as resources I have the land and habitation but I still need resources to build industries on my property. From food to even bringing more people around one needs resources to produce better outcomes for our people as a whole. We can take our business from cross city to cross state to international eventually.

I've heard the number 500k banded about as a 'start'. Is this meant to be a one time check or annually and if so for how long? What's the difference between cash and a check?
Restitution in what form? Some specifics?
    Guarantees of 'non repetition'.

    My advice is:
    1. No FBA should pay state tax in any state that was part of the confederacy.
    2. The cash or check is non taxable and can't be attached. For example, OJ got sued and was found guilty in the deaths of Goldman and Brown, but his pension couldn't be touched. I'd suggest the same guarantees and protections. You can't sue someone and take their pension money. Make the check the same.
    3. My suggestion is change the census and have Black be divided into an FBA and non FBA designation. As much as I see all black people who ride as one, the fact remains there will be chicanery. The census has been changed a few times. In 1970 there was a Chicano and Hispanic box. Today they make sure any Latino has to ALSO choose a race. That is why Latinos have white on their driver's license. And stats will say White / Caucasian or White (Latino). Start delineating on the official forms now. To avoid $5 FBAs later. There are federal penalties about falsifying government forms.
    4. I'd suggest to have someone either check a terms and agreements box before accepting the check in a direct deposit state two things among others. First, that you are an FBA under penalty of law that could result in fine and/or imprisonment. And if you are a naturalized citizen non FBA you risk your citizenship for lying and getting a check. Second, you state you deserve the check for past and present wrongs against your lineage. That makes the FBA Republicans seem like hypocrites for accepting the check. If you are Larry Elder or Thomas Sowell, or politician like Tim Scott you either have to give up the bag or lose all credibility.
    5. Sovereign lands. Just like natives. How they will be governed is up for discussion. But places around the country that have even stronger protections than the Natives have. By that I mean whenever oil or whatever is found on Indian lands the government tries to force them to make it available. Also, there can be casinos that can make money and basically a 'safe place'.

    7. Make Black people a protected class
    8. Police Reform (as outlined in my post)
    9. Release all black non violent offenders
    10. Change 13th amendment to read slavery is illegal even as a form of punishment
    11. Cash payments in the form of a monthly stipend sent via direct deposit in an amount no less than $1,000 payable for 19.5 years to equal a total of $234,000. Transferable to family member should recipient die before 20 year time period.

    All of the above.
That's what I'd like to see. Of course we won't as long as black people keep voting blue no matter who!

Number 3 is going to be the hardest to rectify. Policing for example. In the major cities, my suggestions are:
    1. Stop making the police a revenue source. The dirty little secret is that the cities are flat broke. All the major ones. You can only levy so many city taxes. So, what the cities have done is do 'hidden taxes'. Some examples are raising the fines for parking meters and traffic violations. Raise the fees for city application forms for licenses. The police have been mandated since the 80s to write tickets. The monies from them writing tickets goes into a city's general fund. Meaning they can use it for literally anything. The main reason even liberal mayors don't eff with the police is that they provide a huge amount of money. In major cities its in the millions. So, end that.

    2. No matter your color or gender, anyone who rises to police chief is part of the problem. You can't move up the ranks as a reformer. You can't move up the ranks telling on bad cops. You can pass all the exams you want to be Sergeant or Lieutenant but they will only choose the ones who look the other way and observe the blue line/wall. So, I would hire retired military officers who have run Military Police at a large base. It's very similar policing. Notice you never hear of MP abuse of soldiers out in the town? Even if they are drunk and unruly? By hiring a retired colonel who ran large MPs for a huge base you have someone who is in theory: a. not beholden to the blue wall. b. has integrity. c. give him or her a mandate to 'clean up' the department.

    3. Remove qualified immunity. It's a must and have the police have to have liability insurance. Instead of the city having to pay for civil lawsuits the insurance companies will and those companies will raise the premiums of cops with complaints and being sued to the point the premiums will be too much to keep the job and that cop will not be able to find a job elsewhere because his or her premium will be too high. Doctor's need malpractice insurance. Other professionals do as well. It's insane that we grant someone with the legal authority to take life and not have them be insured. Doctors have life and death situations as part of their job.

    4. No state or federal aid to police departments that hire cops that have been fired and/or lost cases.

    5. In black areas, make certain areas similar to the Hasidic Jewish and Chinatown areas of NYC. Those areas have their own police liaison. NYPD can't roll up to the Hasidic areas of Borough park, Williamsburg and arrest any Hasidic Jew or in Chinatown and do the same. First, those areas have their own civilian quasi police force. In truth, they are there to make sure non Hasidic Jews stay out but they also act as that. Mandate overwhelmingly black areas have that. The NOI (Nation of Islam - Fruit of Islam) could be a possible solution and have the same liaison for overwhelmingly black areas. This will end the 'stop and frisk' and racial profiling.

Just like with Tribal and Native reservations, any outside visitors (particularly non-Black ones) should be required pay to enter into our neighborhoods.

I agree with most of what was said but to add onto those things I would say:

    1. A Freedman Reclamation Committee for stolen/swindled property.
    2. Reestablishing the Freedman’s Bank, this time ran by a committee of Freedmen that ONLY we vote upon like the Federal Reserve.
    3. Land. We are still owed our acreage, there’s not enough land to give all of us 40 acres but I still want land.
    4. That land should be protected so that it can only be governed us and for us; semi-autonomous. And none of that irradiated land in Nevada. Give us the federal land in Oregan, Montan, and Idaho.

I’m with this, especially Oregon, which was absolutely founded to escape diversity. It was founded for whites only.. like most if not all U.S. States but, as migrations started to populate into more brown people, Oregon emerged as another land of milk and honey for white Europeans not so much American. We’re talking 1859-60.

Yes, the check list is a great start, i'd be happy if they addressed the past and actually made an attempt to pay us back for it. At the very least, they could have offered some kind of financial payment, maybe a monthly thing or even yearly. Hell, include it in our taxes when we file, that we'll get a bonus for being a black American, mark it as a reparation if you have to. The government will probably just sidestep the issues and never get us what we deserve.

Thanks, so regarding number one. Aretha Franklin literally gets a bag with cash? A check is the same as cash when banking. I deposit a 100 dollar bill into my bank account, and I deposit a $100 check. How is that different? Sorry, I'm still a bit confused.

Regarding number 2, I understand the term restitution and what it is, but specifically how does the U.S. government do it? For example, thousands of blacks have been victimized by redlining in Chicago. What specifically would they get or have happen? Do they get the specific property? A check in lieu of it?

Regarding number three. Still, I understand the term non-repetition. There will always be racist cops. How does the government specifically stop that cop from being racist against Blacks?

Not trying to be argumentative. I think its a wonderful idea. I'm just trying to understand how it looks specifically.

I would also add to mine that HBCUs should be for FBAs primarily. Right now, just being black gives everyone equal access for admission. Base priority admission on that because that's its original intent. I have extended family that have gone to HBCUs and I've spent time on various campuses. On some campuses and I'll name Howard as one (and I don't know if its like that now but back in my day it was). Foreign blacks segregated themselves and a lot of the behavior that resulted in Tariq (and others) to do the delineation thing was very evident. They got into a black school easier because they were fellow blacks and once in acted like they were too good to f*ck with others. And would use that access to be anti-Black in some form or fashion sometimes after.

You do the brotha nod to a lot of folks and you get the "I don't see you, I'm looking past you" thing. But if some sh*t happen with the dominant society you want my back though? F*ck that. Hold your own off code nuts. That goes for anyone who is off code no matter where you from.

The questions you are asking are all up for consideration and debate. In California the Task Force is seeking answers and remedies from other scholars, historians and the black American community. That’s why it’s so important that as many Black Americans engage in the conversation as possible. This is why I even proposed the question in my post. Reparations don’t look the same to everyone.

I want to also clear up the fact that cash and or check are not quite the same. The California Task Force chair, Kamilah Moore is the one that mentioned cash and or check as forms of payment. I listed the 5 forms of payment as a direct quote from her. I also provided the video of her repeating her personal suggestion of those five forms of payment that she herself based off of international law guidelines for Reparations.

Cash can be a direct Deposit and a paper check is another but slower form of payment as far as the bank is concerned. The bank usually applies a hold on said checks, so there is a difference in that regard.

When we are done figuring out the appropriate amounts, under international law concerning reparations, the U S A will have to comply.. we’re not asking for a Vote. We’re basically suing the United States Govt in my understanding. They have the money from all of their nefarious activities, money laundering, etc., so they can miss us with the lie that they don’t have the money.

I believe there is going to be over 100 reasons for reparations including theft of physical and intelectual properties, mass incarceration, lynching, police brutality and violence cases, loss of life under the color of law, permanent separation of families, identity theft, human trafficking, etc. The list is very long. Regarding the police, A complete change of policy and arrest protocol will be the only way police can be prohibited from racially targeting Black people. Completely change the way police do business. That could mean everything from defunding the police to watering their authority way down, where as they are unarmed mediators. These are just my ideas that I’m putting out there to keep the conversation going. I feel we have to have an exhaustive list of remedies to come to any type of consensus.

Some people will have to prove their claims but in general terms Reparations will also include a monetary cash payment for systemic racism that caused an identifiable economic disparity gap when it comes to Black American families versus white American families.

I truly hope I was able to clear some things up.. Just remember this is still all a work in progress and it’s going to take all of us to come up with the blueprint. Fortunately for us we do have examples of other Reparations paid to other ethnic groups.. including the very Americans who were compensated for losing their slaves because of Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation.

Please keep the conversation going until we reach something undeniably suitable, equitable and appropriate for us.

For California, is any FBA living there now? Or over a certain period of time? I can see people moving there right before and changing their residency, what would be the cut off?

Anyway, my suggestion for reparations is have some black lawyers who 1. believe in the reparations fight and 2. look at any loopholes and the trick bag in the wording. We already know they will do what they have always done. Find a way to lesson it in some form or fashion. That is my biggest fear, either / or try to expand it where you see even black latinos in it and/or trick bag the money back to them in some way (it's taxable, if you owe IRS taxes or all of a sudden recipients are getting audited and the monies frozen till whatever, etc.)

And for those few who have this 'why you even commenting' mindset, and I'll say it just once. First, we are all black. Lineage, culture different but I'm the same pre FBA talk as after. I want to see black people get justice. Anywhere, anyplace, that hasn't changed. Second, if you are black in America no matter how you got there, you are either directly or tangentially affected. Any anti black legislation that comes as a result affects all of us. The more black people with money is better for all of us. Even outside America for those who see with that 3rd eye.

We all get pulled over by race soldiers, we all can get Brads or Karens trippin', all get the same housing and employment discrimination, all our kids get targeted by white teachers and administrators. That hasn't changed.

Anyway, as many of us as possible pulling in the same direction, and be on code, the better for all of us.
