What Should I Start In March?

Companion planting is a great way to rid your garden of pests and even attract pollinators. This chart doesn't go into a lot of detail but this article breaks it down pretty well. https://www.thespruce.com/companion-planting-1402735

What Should I Start In March?

Any herbs you're looking to grow would be great to start indoors also. I'm not sure what growing zone Michigan is in but it sounds close to 5b where I'm at, and I'll be starting all my peppers, herbs, celery, and legumes around mid-March.

    Spring Gardens!

Working on garden plans now! Definitely trying to find a permanent spot for my asparagus patch and build a couple new raised beds from some left over cinder blocks. Zone 5 the season comes and goes with the quickness! Planting usually starts mid to late March, so we have a little time to make...

    Making Slave Owners' Families Pay

Then why does this thread even exist? You should be getting on code with what the people from the soil are saying and if not then you shouldn't really be saying anything.

    Making Slave Owners' Families Pay

I think the timing of this post is disrespectful. MLK said " We are coming to DC for our check." Period. We should not and most of us do not care how poor whites feel about it because though they may not have owned, they benefited from the owning. I don't think we have the time for dual allegiances.

    The Self Sufficiency Thread

Yes ma'am. Once you get it down the way you want it it's a beautiful thing. I've learned it can be trial and error sometimes. You just have to keep at it. Please keep us updated on your journey.

If it's a new thing for you, learning about your grow zone is super important before you purchase seeds.

Paranoid behavior that only Black people can understand

Oh man where do I start... I always stand in the back of the elevator, can't let anybody get the drop on me. Never ever use my government name in public. I prefer to eat at home because I don't trust people with my food but if I am out I always sit facing the entrance door. I go to the...

    Nutritional Accountability

My husband and I are sitting on 5 acres. Building a 1200 sq ft greenhouse in the spring. Complete self sufficiency is definitely the goal.

    Is Marriage Worth It?

This is true. We were married in our hearts. The paperwork was just a formality. It is definitely important for assets and children.

    Is Marriage Worth It?

I never wanted to get married. NEVER saw it in the cards for myself. But I was blessed to meet a King that changed that for me. 10 years and still kicking. When you find the one you'll know. I can agree with that sentiment to a certain extent. America does approach marriage in a business like...

    Winter Gardens

In zone 8 you should definitely be able to get a little something started! Our house is south facing and because we are in a mountain valley we still get a bunch of sun during the winter. I was thinking the cold frame boxes should help create enough warmth for me to try to grow some greens and...

    Winter Gardens

We did not plant a winter garden this year. But we will definitely be doing so next year. In the next couple weeks we will be building a few cold frame boxes for our future winter gardens. We live in zone 5 so our outdoor growing season is shorter than short. Are you growing this winter? If...
