The Rock and Oprah Winfrey have announced they are working together to launch The People’s Fund of Maui to help those affected by the recent wildfires. 100% of donations will go to Lahaina residents. The two have already donated $10 million to the campaign.

He wrote on Twitter: “We’re honored to announce the People’s Fund of Maui, a fund putting money directly in the pockets of those who were affected by the recent wildfires.

As @Oprah and I have seen firsthand, the impacts of these wildfires have been devastating, and we’re here to ensure with 100% guarantee that your donations will go directly into the hands of Lahaina residents.
Every adult resident who lives in the affected area and was displaced by the wildfires in Lahaina and Kula is eligible to receive $1200 per month to help them through this period of recovery. All you have to do is go to People's Fund of Maui to apply.

We are honored to start this campaign with $10 million dollars and ask for your help in donating to those who have lost their homes. We thank you in advance for your contribution.”

For those of you who don't have time to read through the attached thread, the $250M isn't cash; it is the dollar amount of expiring weaponry/military equipment that the US is supplying to Ukraine. As such, that aid package comes with a lot of strings attached. Ukraine will be in America's debt for a very long time going forward.

Now that that's established, my question is whether or not you think that African countries should accept a similar military aid package from the US (or another global superpower) if it means that they will be heavily indebted to that country for several decades. Why or why not?

For the most part, brothers know white boys will see our women, elderly and kid as valid targets for racist abuse be it verbal or physical.
A few brothers in denial but for the most part we won't put anything past a WS.

Sisters often don't realize that and think being a woman in society, in theory, protected, is enough of a barrier from white racist men or cops. Not all, but too many.
