Side note. I get what they tried to do, but that wasn't soul food (AND THAT DAMN SURE WASN'T CORN BREAD)!! There must've been at least one Black tourist in Pakistan who could've made some authentic food!
After a 5-year hiatus, Kendrick Lamar steps back on the scene with his fifth album Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Before we begin, let’s level set…this is not an album for everyone. It’s an experimental genre-bender that will leave those expecting a pure and unadulterated Rap album feeling ostracized and confused. I recommend listeners come to this album expecting “Alternative Rap” at best and “Not Even Rap” at its worst. Now shall we begin?
Silent Hill is boring. The lyrics are meaningless, the flow is lazy and both pair horribly with the subdued and introspective beat. In fact, Kendrick’s vocals are so banal that they fade into the beat right next to the hi hat. Kodak Black was slightly better; his flow was on point, but his lyrics were subpar:
Pull out the stick, hit a bitch with the wood First to park Rolls Royce, ‘vert in the hood Don’t worry about us, over here we good The AP Roman numeral, everywhere I go, I need pharmaceuticals
Women, Cars, Jewelry, and Drugs all within 4 bars. If you’ve been waiting for Silent Hill to come back, this ain’t it.
Rich Spirit
If you’ve read my Nas – Magic review, you will remember that I docked Nas for over-reliance on 16 random bars as a verse. In Rich Spirit, I believe Kendrick Lamar is guilty of the same exact infraction. The entire song feels “phoned in”. There’s very little energy in the vocals, the lyrics are nothing special, and the “white” voice in verse 3 is strange.
N95
Kendrick Lamar takes his mask off on N95 and shows the world why he is highly regarded in Rap. Verse 1 is the preamble; Verse 2 is Kendrick at his best:
“The world in a panic, the women is stranded, the men on a run The prophets abandoned, the law take advantage, the market is crashin’, the industry wants Niggas send bishes to sleep in a box while they makin’ a mockery followin’ us”
The way he delivered these bars was amazing and I wish he gave us more of this on the album.
Life Factor
Commute – 3
Sedentary – 3
Activity – 0
N95 Die Hard Father Time Rich Spirit Count Me Out Silent Hill Savior Mr. Morale Mirror
United in Grief Worldwide Steppers We Cry Together Purple Hearts Crown Auntie Diaries Mother I Sober
None
Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers is an album that gives you an even number of tracks to listen to on the go and when you’re Sedentary. Since the album leans more towards the “somber” side of things, there is nothing exciting or hype for the Gym or a Party. In fact, some of the songs that I placed under “Commute” are borderline Sedentary which really masks how slow and somber this album truly is.
Skill Factor
Instrumentation - 5
The underlying compositions are sonically impressive but make for a very subpar rap album.
18% of the tracks do not fall under the genre of Rap.
43% of the tracks are somber, melancholy, or down tempo.
More than half of the somber tracks do not have Kick and Snare combo: Auntie Diaries, Worldwide Steppers, Crown, Mother I Sober.
Lyrics - 5
Kendrick’s pen game has always been first rate and this album is no different. Songs like Worldwide Steppers, Mother I Sober, and Auntie Diaries teleport listeners into Kendrick’s body for a “day in the life” of his world. His ability to communicate his life through his pen is top notch and that cannot be discounted no matter how you feel about the songs as a whole. However, after such a long hiatus, we wanted more “Verse 2 of N95” Kendrick on this album. His comeback should have re-established himself as the modern lyricist before springing out into the experimental “Starbucks Rap” lane.
Flows - 5
Much like his lyrics, the flows are top notch. He is a master at using the requisite number of words to convey a thought without over cramming the bar and getting off-beat. But be aware, if you are not a fan of the constant voice changes this will not be the outing for you.
Parting Thoughts
Every couple of years, the dominant society crowns an artistic endeavor as the pinnacle work of its time. During this period, we see White writers pushing over-analytical puff pieces that shower the art with acclaim and adulation, see The Heist, Coloring Book, etc. In this context, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is an aural “pick me”. It’s a genre-bending affair that sees Kendrick’s lyrical prowess given to melancholy, somber, and sometimes drumless backing tracks. While it may not be for everyone, I believe this album elevates Kendrick Lamar to the pound-for-pound king of coffee shop rap.
It seems lately the RICO has been reserved for FBA while clearly there’s been a WS pandemic since before the RICO act was established. There’s clear evidence of these WS gangs such as the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, Democrats, Republicans etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. There’s also evidence where they meet such as 4chan, 8chan, discord, Reddit, Whitehouse, courthouses, police stations etc etc etc etc etc etc and yet these people or place’s are never investigated or shut down.If you ask me they all need the RICO from the FBI to the judges, police, WS social media owners, Record labels and on and on!!
Racist strands in policing run deep in American history. “From the beginning there’s been negative relations between police and communities of color,” says Lorenzo Boyd, a police consultant and trainer, and vice president of diversity and inclusion at the University of New Haven. “From slave patrols through the Civil War, Jim Crow period, the civil rights movement, racial profiling, stop-and-frisk, and on through the current Black Lives Matter protests.”
Do you guys have any game suggestions for games that were created by Black game developers or teams? (Even games that are currently in the development process)
The Black community in Buffalo, New York is devastated as they cope with the mass shooting that resulted in the deaths of 10 Black people. In fact, we ALL are devastated because this impacts us all. Any of one of us could have been those 10 Black people that fell victim to a White Supremacist who had a lust for Black blood.
Right this minute, the White Supremacist thugs and their minions are celebrating this as a victory. The anti-Black memes, jokes, comments, etc. flow effortlessly from their fingertips to the ears and eyes of many across the globe. While the media finds no issue downplaying and infantilizing their activity, you cannot. These White Supremacists are plotting their next domestic terrorist attacks and you may find yourself in their crosshairs.
The Staging Ground
Websites such as 4chan and 8chan continue to openly breed, host, encourage, and enable violent white supremacist terrorists. These sites provide a safe space for the terrorists to congregate and traffic their ideals, plans, manifestos and more. Other sites such as: Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok may not be as explicit in their anti-Blackness but still foster hateful, anti-Black racist environments.
This begs the question, why is law enforcement and the government allowing for dangerous, hateful, terroristic cesspools like 4chan and 8chan to exist? Some would say “to make it easier to monitor extremist activity by keeping it in the public view” others will say “Freedom of Speech and Expression” but in the end our Freedom to Live supersedes it all.
We have had enough.
Raw Hate and Confusion
The murderer, Payton Gendron, drove over 200 miles to Buffalo, NY to execute his attack on unsuspecting Black Americans. What this shows, is just how determined and dedicated these white supremacists are in targeting, attacking, and killing us Black people. But why? Well Payton’s racist hate-filled manifesto “claimed” an intense hate for immigrants…but then why did he attack Black people?
Well, actions speak louder than words. These violent thugs don’t see immigrants, Jewish, LGBT, SJWs, feminists, women, and non-Black people as a threat. What every Black person must get through their head is that they see Black people as their biggest threat and hate us more than any other group in existence. They may confuse the intention with their words but it’s merely a smoke screen, we are enemy #1.
The US Government Owes Us
It is long overdue.
It is beyond official.
Black people need cash reparations RIGHT NOW. But in addition to cash payments, we require funding to build our communities and fund our own policing apparatus. Now more than ever the Federal Government must provide the seed capital for us to build a Black apparatus that allows us to effectively prevent these anti-Black domestic terrorist attacks.
Black people also need an Anti-Black Racism Federal Hate Crime Bill that provides federal protections and gives serious life and death sentences without parole to non-Black violators. We need it now. Crack down on secret and open white supremacists in law enforcement. White supremacist like the Proud Boys, KKK, Boogaloo Boys, and countless more need to be officially classified as domestic terrorist groups and treated no different than Black gangs.
A good first step for the government would be for Payton Gendron to be charged with and convicted for violating domestic terrorism and hate crime laws. Nothing short of the Death Penalty should suffice for someone who willfully terrorizes Americans.
The Non-Existent Minority Coalition
For the Black and Brown, minority coalition, “we’re all the same”, “we’re all treated” the same and POC crowd, understand something. We Black people are not treated the same as everyone else. WeYou all are not in the same boat as Black people.
This vehemently murderous domestic terrorist attack was not anti-Semitic or rooted in anti-Semitism.
No white Jewish people were killed and targeted.
………………..
This vehemently murderous domestic terrorist attack was not about immigration or rooted in xenophobia.
No non-Black immigrants and others such as Latinos, Asians, Afghans, Arabs, and Ukrainians were killed and targeted.
………………..
This vehemently murderous domestic terrorist attack was not sexist, homophobic, or transphobic.
No non-Black women and non-Black LGBT people were killed and targeted.
………………..
The people, the victims, were killed and targeted because they were Black and Black only. Nothing else.
This was a plotted, carefully devised, extremist violent anti-Black hate crime, guerilla warfare, domestic terrorist attack against the Black community.
We Are At War
Black people, we are in a State of Emergency. The time is now. Stop forgiving and hugging these oppressors and violent thugs. Stop with the damn church hymns and singing “Amazing Grace.” Shut down the cookout invitations and n-word passes. Stop playing dumb and playing nice with your two-faced oppressors. Turn off all distractions. We need to get serious. What is our response to this? We are sitting ducks now.
What the heck is Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Eric Adams, Letitia James, the entire Biden Administration and Congress, Supreme Court, and the New York government going to do and say about the out of control, skyrocketing anti-Black racist hate crimes across the country?!! Black Americans, you need to pressure all your politicians to answer to this deadly, genocidal benign neglect and the atrocious anti-Black catastrophes NOW.
Individuals like Payton Gendron are Pure Evil.
Pure Evil cannot be reformed, rehabilitated, or allowed to exist in this society.
May it perish in the deepest pits of HELL if HELL exists.
If every evil, soulless, violently anti-Black white supremacist, and their accomplices were to drop dead tomorrow, how could you not feel a tremendous sense of relief and happiness?
Black people, please purchase protection and properly practice, NOW.
Use your brain power to utilize your available tools wisely.
Family, you have heard over the past hours what happened in Buffalo, NY. Keep yourself armed and be aware of your surroundings. If you see a person who is not known in your area investigate. They could be the next mass shooter. Peace and protection.
Unbelivably intresting article its crazy whats coming out now
The invasion of Ukraine has been horrifying to witness. Early on, some observers repeatedlyexpressedthe idea that the invasion of Ukraine is especially horrifying because, as CBS reporter Charlie D’Agata, who was in Kyiv, put it, “This isn’t a place, with all due respect, like Iraq or Afghanistan, that has seen conflict raging for decades. This is a relatively civilized, relatively European — I have to choose those words carefully too — city." (D’Agata later issued an apology.)
1. NATO was born out of a fear of White slavery American commitments to NATO were born out of the fear that communism would spread in Europe. However, communism was seen to pose a threat not just to “freedom” — but specifically to White freedom, as historian Tyler Stovall and others have shown. In the U.S. South, communism was seen as synonymous with desegregation. Looking abroad, arch-segregationist Sen. James Eastland (D-Miss.) in 1947 explained his support for U.S. commitments to Europe:
… there is more slavery on the earth today than at any previous time in the world’s history … communism is the greatest of all enslavers [because] Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia are the first nations in modern history which have recognized and practiced the doctrine of human slavery as applied to the white race. (Note: Emphasis is the author’s.)
Last night Jason and many of our brothas and sistas spoke about staying aware. Just wondering dose anyone else play the "I SPY low key WS" game when you driving or just going about your day???
I am wondering if anyone here has this issue. I have a few family members that are refusing to see Biden as a bad president. They think he is doing better than Trump and one of them even said "Better than Obama" and I about damn near lost my mind!
They are ignoring what he did with the baby formula, with the illegals, with sending all our money to Ukraine, the gas prices hiking, food shortages, record-high unemployment like we have never seen before, and the list goes on and on.
How come people want to be blind to this? I don't care if you voted for him, you can admit it and say you made a bad choice. It isn't the end of the world but these people can't lose. If they say Biden sucks ass as a president, then they feel like they are admitted they made a mistake and they can't do that. It frustrates me that people want to act like children in grown adult bodies. If you can't research, don't vote! At the very least acknowledge that this old white piece of crap is ruining the country and it is damaging the lives of black Americans the most!!
In a NASA-funded study, scientists at the University of Florida grew plants in soil collected from the moon, according to a study published Thursday in the journal Communications Biology.
The study is paramount to NASA's long-term goals in human space exploration, NASA administrator Bill Nelson said in a press release. The research could also have implications for plants growing in harsh conditions on Earth, he added.
"We'll need to use resources found on the Moon and Mars to develop food sources for future astronauts living and operating in deep space," Nelson said.
The study makes use of lunar soil samples collected from Apollo 11, 12 and 17.

I don't normally follow space stuff cause I am skeptical of things they say and do but this is interesting. Using moon soil to grow plants works but I feel like they are leaving out other factors that require plants to grow, things the moon just don't have! lol
I wonder if they are intending on making the moon some livable space or something.
The religion of white supremacy is in full affect. A college student travels 200 miles to kill 10 people at a Buffalo supermarket, and yes, he was arrested without incident. This is an evil group of homo erectus. Keep your head on a swivel. My question is where are all the hood dudes with all the guns, that could have stopped this from happening or to at least nip it in the bud?
Good article about reperations, I'd like to see more of this in the MSM. We can't lose focus on the task at hand, the fight for what's owed is going to be a tough but very doable.
All Black Latinos especially the Caribbean should make a pilgrimage to Spain to get their eyes opened. The biggest coons will come back ready to try harder to be accepted, the rest may finally start developing a Black identity. What’s baffling is how a lot of Black Latinos will be the bottom caste in their land and still not see that it’s racism. They’ll swear up and down that they don’t see race in their homeland and i’ll ask “why are all the poor Black and all the rich White?” Someone is clearly seeing race in your country.
