A suspect wearing a Sonic the Hedgehog mask and armed with a hammer attempted to rob a DeLand bank Wednesday, according to authorities.

Police received a call at around 4:20 p.m. about an armed robbery in progress at the Florida Credit Union at 1735 N Woodland Blvd., according to the DeLand Police Department.

Officers learned that a suspect wearing a Sonic mask and holding a hammer entered the bank demanding money. At one point, the suspect hit the teller’s window with his hammer and continued making demands.

This dude just thought to put on a sonic mask and rob a bank. What kind of thought process has to be going through your mind to be doing this. I almost feel like he did it for added attention. I have a soft spot in my heart for old DOS games and old Windows 95/2000/XP compatible games. Are there any that you still play in some capacity or another?

Here's a few I still play, even now:

1. Monopoly Tycoon - Hasbro's first attempt to really expand Monopoly past the traditional board game and into a more Simulation based, strategy game. I was like SimCity and the Build-A-Lot series.


2. Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold - This game was built on the then, all new Doom3D Engine and plays just like Doom and Wolfenstein 3D as well. You're a Special Agent who is hunting down a disgraced mad scientist who killed your family and is hell bent on killing you. It's 6 episodes long and 10 episodes per episode I think.


3. Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective Vol. 1, 2 and 3 - An interactive collection of Sherlock Holmes mysteries. There were usually 3 investigations to solve and a certain amount of points to accumulate before you could present your case to the Judge.


4. Oregon Trail II - It's not really a sequel per se, they just filled out the game a little more and created more depth. For example, you can choose which year your party leaves which in turn, impacts what cities you can leave from during that time, it also determines what items might be available and what occupations you can choose from.



4. Clue CD-Rom (Win 3.1/95) - The classic board game was reimagined as an interactive party detective game. 3 different murders to choose from and I think there were like 3 or 4 difficulties to play on which impacted who the murderer was. The only thing I wish it would have done was randomized who the murderer was each time, because otherwise, once you correctly solve the case, no matter the level, then the replay-ability isn't there since you already "know the answer".



Others I play periodically:
Space Quest - Humorous point and click sci-fi game that parodies a lot of then pop-culture stalwarts. Notably Star Wars and Star Trek.




Where in The World is Carmen San Diego? - I watched the show growing up also, but for those of you either too old or just not hip. You're a detective who is on the trail of the leader of the V.I.L.E gang, Carmen San Diego, and her crew of thieves as they steal landmarks or local relics from different places across the globe.


Those are all the games I recall I'm playing for now.

This game is absolute garbage to me. It feels like a some thing made for kids between the ages of 3 - 6 it’s so easy. My biggest gripes:

Moons are Devalued
There are too many moons and many are of no consequence.

• Jump on a platform, MOON!
• Walk behind a wall, MOON!
• Crush a block with your head, MOON!

By time you get to your 3rd or 4th world, the mechanic of finding the moons becomes dull. You don’t feel like you’ve accomplished anything by gaining a moon.

Cappy is a Gimmick
Nothing about Cappy improves and/or enhances the gameplay. Instead of crushing a block to gain a powerup you basically fling a hat to gain it, that’s it. It’s not like FLUDD in Mario Sunshine that enabled innovative ways for you to traverse the world.

It‘s Repetitive
Spaceship broke down, find moons to power it, fight boss that dies in 3 taps, fly to next land, spaceship broke down, find moons to power It, fight boss that dies in 3 taps, fly to next land. This is the entire game. Granted, you an change your outfit but outside of that, it’s just a collectathon. The entirety of Mario Odyssey is the Kurok Seed portion of Breath of the Wild which is a joke.


I thought we were going to get our definitive version of Mario like we got for Zelda in Breath of the Wild. Instead we got a phoned in, half ass, boring ass, baby game that is Mario Odyssey.

This was one Odyssey I’ll be happy to never go on again.

I am not one to judge but when it comes to my friends lowering their standards for love, I can't keep my mouth shut. I have to say something. A friend of mine is dating this dude who no joke, has $0 to his name. His car broke down last month and he has been using her's when he needs to get somewhere. She works full-time and babysits on the side and she is covering the costs for his broke self. She says she is in love. She says he is her world. Dude has been out of work for going on 3 months now and has ZERO motivation to get out there and find work. She deserves someone better than this imo.

How can I talk some sense into her when she is blinded by her emotions?

I wanted to drop this here. I am not entirely sure who he is. I have seen him before so forgive me if he is not someone you want to be hearing from. I do think he has a point. If you compare the algorithms of China's TikTok and America's TikTok it paints two very different pictures. I don't think it is a coincidence that the dumbest trends, dumbest takes, and dumbest people get the most views and money on the platform. I have never joined but have seen enough online from what others are sharing.

The line that got me was when he said you want the youth thinking you can get famous (and wealthy) with something that has no value in society. I have no issues with dancing, twerking, etc. but there is a time and a place for it.

Share your thoughts on what he said. Do you think he is right? Do you think it is less complicated than that?
