I think you have to do the research and see what charities are honest. There a lot of bad ones out there but I'm sure there are good too. You can always donate to a local cause so you know where it's going too.

I've only ever had pure bred dogs but I would love to adopt a mix from the shelter one day! I have a pure bred Pomeranian now and he's a handful lol
