This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things

Login to view embedded media This idiot was willing to shoot up the whole gym (and possibly injure some innocent people) over some bs. Maybe he was losing, maybe he got fouled hard, maybe he fought with his girlfriend before he went to hoop. I don't know that happened before the video, and it doesn't matter.
NONE of that is a reason to kill or injure another human being. Use your words, or use your hands. If you don't have hands, go walk it off. If you can't fight a guy in the gym, you sure as hell won't be able to fight your celly!
I'm sick of Black people dying over nothing.
Also, S/O to bro in the grey shorts for seeing f*ckery on the horizon and getting the eff out of there!
Common sense is always your first line of defense.

The trolley problem (poll)

The fat man.jpg

So, there's a vehicle traveling down the train tracks, and there are 5 people that are tied up on the train tracks, but there is a fat man at the top of the bridge with you that you can push down to prevent the vehicle from killing all 5 of the tied up people at the bottom, do you push the fat man to save the 5 people, or do you let the vehicle run over the five people while sparing the fat man at the top of the bridge?

This is a thought experiment on ethics, on if sacrificing a person for a larger number of people is considered ethical by others.

Should We Be Supporting The Big 3 Instead Of The NBA?

I am curious about thoughts on this. Ice Cube built this platform to offer the masses a new way to engage in basketball while creating an opportunities for ballers. Why are we still watching the NBA and shouldn’t we be showing up for The Big 3 in huge numbers?

Kylie, Tiffany and being well-paid slaves

As long as you rely on someone else for your livelihood, you will always be thisclose to being azz out & helpless.

or just make a comment.

The brotha I got this pic from his social media had a comment by a white friend of his, I've copied and pasted his exact words "
I always find people like this funny because they’re clueless.
Because I’m an older white guy in the construction industry, people always assume I’m a Republican.
If I taped the conversations I have with Republican contractors, they’d be flabbergasted at how often the “N” word is dropped and the things they routinely say about other races.
They’re like chickens voting for Colonel Sanders." and he also said "
like I said, they’d shit themselves if the heard the stuff people say to me because their guard is down.
It’s one of the reasons I stopped using a plumber I used for 25 years. Huge racist / Trump guys.
They’d literally say stuff like They’d do to blacks what Hitler did to Jews.
The guys in this pic may think they’re “in the club”, but do they really think Trump would even shake their hand?"

What about a Black Lotto?

Here is one idea that can be used to help in getting monies for Black people specifically.

Our own lotto. One idea, fight to have a federal lotto. Where its open to all states and territories and the proceeds to specifically to a black megafund. That fund can only be used for a specific purpose. We can determine that...maybe HBCU funding, whatever.

Or we have our own independent one that we can legally have like the Indians. With today's technology it can be done with multiple states. Set up agreements and again, the proceeds go specific to something we want. Run by us.

I'm NOT saying this is reparations or a solution to it, not all. I know some of y'all will jump to that conclusion immediately. Just something black people can have for us, by us. It can be included in the reparations fight (after cash settlements) or now or whenever but have the right to have a lotto. A lot of non black people will buy it if the pot is right. People don't trip on where money is going to if they can win some.

You don't look Black American?

Screenshot 2022-11-05 9.31.11 PM.png
I know Black Americans look a bit different from Africans, but like no one ever actually makes it clear how Black Americans are supposed to look in the first place. When people say this I assume they mean that Black Americans are lightskinned? in which they're just entirely denouncing millions of people of their Black American heritage, including me. Most Black Americans aren't lightskin, but are either brownskinned or darkskinned, so I don't get it.

Throwback: Morning Joe attacking Tamir Rice and Michael Brown.

Did Joe Scarborough / Morning Joe ever disavow his anti-Black racist lies against Tamir Rice, Michael Brown, Black people and our oppression?

Remember when Morning Joe, who still has a show on MSNBC, subtly compared Michael Brown to George Zimmerman?

Remember when Morning Joe spread slanderous lies about Tamir Rice, attacked the Black community, downplayed anti-Black racism and supported the racist cops?

All while Mika Brzezinski looked down and silently agreed with him.

When will Joe Scarborough apologize to the Black community and donate to Black grassroots organizations to make up for the tremendous pain he has caused with his anti-Black racist rhetoric?

Black Heroes Of The Past Who Deserves Recognition

charles-jackson-french.png

Here's another "fun fact" they conveniently leave out of the history books...

but this dude deserves his props many, many decades later because he is the definition of Black awesomeness.

On September 5, 1942, United States Navy Petty Officer First Class Charles Jackson French, of Omaha Nebraska,

swam through the night for 6 - 8 hours pulling a raft of 15 wounded sailors with a rope around his stomach

through shark-infested waters after the USS Gregory was hit.
