U. of Georgia linebacker suspended due to rape allegations

Athens-Clarke police investigating rape allegation against Georgia football linebacker

Athens-Clarke County police are investigating an allegation of rape against Georgia outside linebacker Adam Anderson, according to a police incident report obtained Thursday by the Athens Banner-Herald.

No arrest has been made, according to ACC police Lt. Shaun Barnett, who said he did not know if charges will be filed.

“It’s still open and still under investigation,” he said. “It’s depending on how the investigation plays out that will determine that.”

A 21-year-old female told police she went to an Athens residence between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Friday Oct. 29 after having drinks and awoke with Anderson penetrating her while she was lying in bed.

She told police that it was nonconsensual and she was able to leave, according to the report.

Georgia football: Kirby Smart suspends linebacker amid rape allegation

Georgia football coach Kirby Smart suspended linebacker Adam Anderson amid a rape allegation against the NFL Draft prospect.

Anderson is reportedly considered a future first-round NFL Draft pick.

All was well in Athens until this week, with the Georgia Bulldogs ranked No. 1 in the first College Football Playoff rankings. Yet, Anderson’s ongoing investigation and suspension is undoubtedly a hit to the best defense in the country.

With Anderson under investigation, Smart has elected to keep him away from the team for the time being.

Ever dated someone to get back at an ex?

Have you ever dated someone just to get back at an ex? Or did your ex date someone to get back at you? Maybe a friend, or their friend, or a family member of theirs? I haven't done anything like this myself, and I doubt I ever would. I think it'd be wrong for the person you're using, considering they could fall for you in the process.

I have been in my share of bad relationships, some that resulted in my exes trying to get back at me, but thankfully it wasn't too bad. I did end up in breakups I didn't like, and they still put it in my face, but I usually did my best to just move on and leave the past behind. But sometimes you know when someone is trying to throw it in your face. I saw my ex a few times after we broke up, and everytime I would see her, she would be mackin on some dude and looking right at me. I just walk away. Hopefully it was worth it to her, because I imagine the dude she was doing it to, was probably falling for her.

Would you get a pitbull as a pet?

I heard a lot of talk about how awful pitbulls are, and how they are very aggressive. I've always wanted a pitbull myself, because I think they can be good and loyal dogs when trained right. I think they get a bad name because they are often used in dog fighting rings and aren't usually properly trained. But a well trained pitbull is just like any other dog, at least imo. My cousin has a pitbull and it's the most lovable idiot out there. I think if you train them properly and give them the attention they need, they will be perfectly fine to have as pets. But what are your thoughts? Do you think pitbulls get a bad wrap because of bad owners? Or are they in fact more aggressive than other dogs and therefore more dangerous? What do you think?

Pure breed or mutt/mix?

When it comes to cats and dogs, assuming you are into them, do you prefer to go for a pure breed or are you okay with adopting mutts and mixes?

I grew up with both in terms of dogs but I never had a pure breed cat before. Always wanted one but never put the fund forward to adopt one. Not many breeders in my area either so it would be a drive if I wanted to adopt one.

What are your preferences?

Have you ever had to block someone you were once close with?

A few years ago, I had to block communication with my best friend. She got caught up with a guy who controlled who she hung out with and spread lies about her friends and family to turn her against them. I was the last one that held out, but she eventually became so toxic towards my family and me that I had to block her on everything. After the initial period of mourning the friendship, I was kind of relieved. She caused a lot of stress lol But anyway, have you ever had to do that?

If The Squid Game was real, would you partake in it?

Squid Game has become huge all over the world. It helps when millions tune into the show making it one of the most popular shows of our time. Kids are playing the game in school, games are being made of it, and more. But that's not the point of this topic. I wanted to make this topic about the idea of the game being real. If it were real, would you ever partake in something like this? I know for a fact if I tried out for something like that, I would probably be one of the first eliminated. How do you think you'd fair if the Squid Game was real?

Anyone here rap or do hip-hop?

I have no flow or talent when it comes to rapping or doing music in general, but I love the genres. I do with I was able to rap, because being able to just spit out lines is so cool to me. That's why I love freestyle raps, because it puts people on the spot to create something unique.

Anyway, that's not the point of this topic. This is about if anyone here is good at rapping or hip-hop. Is anyone here good at rapping? Feel free to share your raps/talents if you want. No pressure, it's up to you if you want to. Maybe you'll find yourself a new fan in the process. :)

Wale - Folarin II

The first thing that one has to ask themselves when approaching a Wale album is: “can I overlook his antics?” Once you eliminate Wale’s questionable online persona, you reveal an artist who has maintained relevance for over a decade to much success. While some still take issue with his signing to Rick Ross’ MMG, there is no denying that it exposed him to a larger fanbase with minimal compromise. On his seventh full release, Wale offers up a smorgasbord of genre-bending tracks which could be the album’s greatest strength or its downfall.

The album starts off with “New Balances”, a track whose soulful vocal sample, dreamy keys and trap-like drum pattern combine to form the “gloomy day anthem“ of 2021. On this first outing, Wale keeps his bars simple and generic which causes his vocals to fade into the beat as if it’s simply another instrument. He follows “New Balances” with “Name Ring Bell” which starts off strong with its confident chorus and sophisticated drum-laden beat but again falls short with random generic bars that don’t call for the listener’s attention.

But one of Wale’s biggest strengths has been his ability to incorporate R&B into his music which is put on full display with “Caramel”, produced by Lee Major and Ill Maestro. On “Caramel”, Wale speaks of a love interest and how he struggles with juggling his superficiality with the pricelessness of real love. The lack of kick drum for roughly 8 bars in each verse works very well for this song and put Wale’s love tale on the center stage. Not straying too far from this formula is the next track, “Fluctuate”. Distorted vocal sample in the background? Check. Pensive conversation on people’s superficial nature? Check. While similarly themed, the track works well and the background sample set the vibe without overshadowing Wale.

The album takes a huge detour with “Down South” which is gritty, fun, and features notes from the Texas classic “Still Tippin”. Wale does a masterful job of riding the beat while providing listeners insight into a “culture of perpetrating” we see in modern-day rap. Yella Beezy and Maxo Kream also give compelling performances that highlight why WWE decided to use the song for NXT 2.0. With that said, the huge change of pace highlights Wale’s largest Achilles’ Heel with Folarin II, attempting to please too many crowds at one time.

“Jump In” featuring Lil Chris of S.O.B. is one of the most egregious examples of trying to cater to everyone on a single album. It’s your typical “department store commercial” background song which doesn’t fit the album and is even more jarring as it leads into “Down South”.

“Poke It Out” starts off promising but quickly turns into a cheap attempt at a club banger at the expense of Vivrant Thing”. J. Cole has some nice bars but even he couldn’t turn this microwave style track into a full course meal.

In conclusion, Wale has the potential to make incredible projects, as witnessed by all with his release of The Perfect Storm from 2020. Unfortunately, his desire to please everyone has resulted in an unfocused project with few standout tracks and some absolute duds. Wale needs to re-examine what has made him successful and stick to and evolve that specific formula. Experimentation is great but it may be best to leave some of the riskier tracks to side projects.

Standout Tracks: Tiffany Nikes, Caramel, Fluctuate, Down South, Light Years
Skips: Poke It Out, Jump In

The Waveform Rates Folarin II 3 out of 6 ZEROS.
