China streaming service pulls Celtics games after Enes Kanter calls China's Xi 'brutal dictator'

And wait, I bet the NBA will have a word with Enes Kanter about his words. The NBA won't allow anything bad to be said about China. Because if they do, they lose air time over there, as you can see. They decided to take down a Celtics game because Enes Kanter called China's leader Xi a "Brutal Dictator" and I agree with them 100%.

All the NBA cares about is money. They don't care how awful China is to their own citizens. The fact that NBA, and companies like Disney and others are so hell bent at protecting their relationship with China is quite sad to me. China is a dictatorship. Think they care about their citizens?

Now, I wonder if Kanter will somehow be fined for this. I don't think the NBA can do anything about this, because if they do, it will draw backlash in the states. So to me I think the NBA is stuck here. They can't agree with Kanter, but they also can't fine Kanter for his freedom of speech.

Think Trump is going to end up running in 2024?

Honestly I don't care about the presidency. It just seems like whoever is president, becomes a puppet for the people running the show behind the scenes. With that being said though, Trump has been saying he's going to re-run for president in 2024, and honestly I don't care anymore. Do you think he will run in 2024? Do you see him winning if he does? I won't vote for him or Biden, so there's that.

Anyway, what happens if Trump does win? Or Biden wins his second term? Or do you hope someone completely different wins?

Would you let a friend live with you for a while?

Have you ever had a friend who needed to stay with you for a while? How was that for you? I normally don't allow any friends to stay over. I have allowed friends to stay over for a few days while they got back on their feet. But I always make it apparent that it would be a certain period of time and he/she would have to leave.

But, I have had friends who wanted to stay even longer and I don't like that idea. I would allow some friends to stay for a few days, but I try not to have them stay more than a few days to a week.

How do you deal with friends who won't leave though? Have you ever had a friend who overstayed their welcome?

Do you think schools teach enough on black history?

I feel as if schools don't do enough to teach people about black history. I feel like kids these days, aren't taught all the depressing details of the civil rights movement, slavery, hate and more. Do you think schools should do more to include the truths of our past? I know they teach some aspects, but I feel like they overlook a lot of it.

Makes me wonder what schools in white dominated areas taught their kids. I could see many going the route of teaching very little.

Owning a house before meeting the right person?

I mentioned in a few other threads that I plan on buying a house next year. Assuming I get enough debts paid off, I can swing it on my wages. I am looking at getting a raise as well within the next 6 months. I was thinking about this though. Like I am going to be a single homeowner. What would be the best approach when I meet a guy in terms of our housing situations. Like do I invite him into my house and put him on the house as an owner with me? This is after marriage, not before. I feel like if I keep the house in my name, it will be protecting it as an asset but I know once I start having kids, I am not going to want to work. I want to focus on being a mother so he'd have to take over paying it. Or what if he owns a house himself?

Do you have a 5-year plan?

I feel like once you hit your 20s, having a 5-year plan is a good idea. It helps you establish goals for yourself and see growth and where you need to work on your life. I am curious to see if anyone here has a 5-year plan currently. For me - I am looking to pay off some debts, buy a house, and then focus on the next chapter of my life which would be finding a partner to raise a family with. I don't want to wait too long for that. I am approaching 30 and I'd like to be done having kids before the age of 38. I got time but I know a lot of it will be spent finding a partner, unless I luck out.

If they take Chappelle off Netflix, he'll release his specials himself

It seems more backlash has come due to Chappelle's recent comedy special. Over 100 people walked out of the Netflix offices in protest of the special. Honestly, if this results in his special being removed, I hope he releases it online somewhere else, or even for free in spite of all of them. I bet Chappelle could easily fund his own releases if he wants to. I think that is what he will do if he gets "Cancelled" by Netflix and everyone complaining about his comedy.

It's sad that people have to take things away from others because it hurts their feelings. Here's an idea, make your own comedy that makes fun of the hate you receive. Make your own comedy routines. Don't try to push people out because you are offended by their opinions. I think that makes someone look worse, because it feels like they're actively trying to kill comedy. Offensive comedy exists for a reason.

Unarmed man shot 8 times by police files $26 million lawsuit

Hope he wins the lawsuit.. From what the article states, it sounds like Isiah Brown was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher at the time the police came by. They thought his phone was a gun, and shot him up to 10 times (guessing a couple missed maybe?). He survived the shooting and is suing the police station responsible, for $26 million.

That's excessive force if anything. He was shot 8 times. Who would need to be shot 8 times to be taken down? It's so confusing to me. And on top of this all, the police found that the shooting wasn't justified, in fact, Isiah Brown was in the right.

I hope he wins. I think when you have clear cut cases like this, it should be an easy win.

Would you be a stay at home father?

Would you ever be a stay at home father? Instead of you working, your wife may be working, would you be into a relationship like that? Or would you prefer the other way around?

Honestly, I would be a stay at home father if my girlfriend was making more than enough. Just like I would be cool with her staying home if I was making enough. But, I'm all for her wanting to work as well. But for me, I would be a stay at home father. And I think the main reason why, is because us men don't tend to get a whole lot of time with our kids. Mothers are often the ones taking care of the kids, but we can take care of our own as well I think and I think it'd be fun to be a stay at home dad, just to spend the time with my kids and mold them into great kids and great adults. I like the idea of helping mold my future kids into good people.

Plus, it doesn't mean I can't work. I could also find work online.
