I think it would be in the best interest of Puerto Rico to become a state of the United States long term. On the other hand, it looks like a sort of reparative measure by the United States considering what was done on Puerto Rican lands. If Puerto Rico chooses statehood they would forfeit any reparations claims they may have against the Unitef States.

Notice anytime momentum is going regarding our dues or addressing ongoing hate crimes against us,
the subject is overgeneralized to ignore us by focusing on others.

How is this any different than apologizing to every scam victim except the one you scammed,
every household that was robbed except the one you stole from,
everyone who lost someone to murder except the family of the one you killed?
